Soulmate

I just wanted to say I find it strange how it's "platonic soulmate" for platonic love and "soulmate" for romantic. It fits the narrative that romance is the default.

Like if I call someone my soulmate but don't specify, people are gonna assume I mean romantic and that just doesn't sit right with me.

Like, oh you're not my soulmate you're my platonic soulmate. And suddenly society doesn't see it as valuable as romance.

Normalize saying romantic soulmate or just soulmate for non romantic people.

Like, it just feels like you're saying it's less when people say "my best friends are my platonic soulmates and my husband is my soulmate"

Romance isn't the default

Thanks so much for listening and I hope you have an amazing day/night. Take care 💚💜
