Revenge of the Replacements (s3 e6)

Abby's pov
"Hey Ab, Devin just called the studio" Gianna said to me as I went behind the front desk

"Oh from the competition?" I ask and Gianna nods. "What did he want?"

"He just left a message. I don't know" Gianna tells me and I pick up the phone

The call:

(Abby in italics Devin in italics)

"Hey Devin this is Abby from the Abby Lee Dance Company, how are you?"
I'm doing well Abby, how are you today?
"Good I just want to return your call. Gianna said you called and I wanted to thank you"
I did want to make you aware of an issue. Contestant number 217, Sugar and Spice, received second place highest score in the duet/trio, so we did give you guys the incorrect award. So we wanted the opportunity to let you know that it was a mistake on our part, and we do apologize for that
"Alright well thank you so much for calling"

End of call

"How bout that" I say to Gianna

"So they didn't win" She says. "Well Kendall just had a rough weekend"

"Turns out Ale would've been the right person to do the duet with Maddie" I tell her and she nods

"Yep"

"Well maybe no more Maddie and Kendall duets then. And more Maddie, Ale duets" I inform Gianna

"Oh definitely. At least they have never not gotten first with their duets" Gianna points out and I nod

Alessia's pov
We all arrived at the studio and went into the dancers den to change. I took off my black jean shorts and gray top and changed into my dance clothes

When we get into Studio A Miss Abby isn't there yet so we get into our lines. She then walks in a minute later and she doesn't seem happy

"Well, once again I'm not very happy. When I left that competition everybody was gloating about how amazing you were. The big winners. Nothing blew me away. I think all of you would be interested in knowing that our duet, Sugar and Spice, did not win. There was a mathematical error. And that means that Sugar and Spice, Maddie and Kendall, were not the overall high score winning duet/trio." Miss Abby tells us and we're all shocked. I can't believe this. "So Greensboro, North Carolina, which we thought was a smashing success, turned out to be a big let down"

"I watched the group number. I saw some superb dancing and I saw some horrendous dancing. Kendall, whose place did you take?" Miss Abby asked Kendall

"Sophia's" Kendall responds quietly

"Sophia's. Right next to Ale. Did you look what she would've looked doing that dance next to Ale?" Miss Abby asks and Kendall shrugs. "You don't know? I'll tell ya. No way"

Kendall was about to cry so I gave her a hug. "Don't cry, it's ok" I whisper

"Listen to me. Learn this. Every single one of you when you're in here rehearsing and you keep screwing up, you don't need me to stand there and point out every mistake. Can't you see it?" Miss Abby yells before taking the first cover off the bottom headshot

"Kendall, you worked your way up that pyramid and now you're right back where you started from. Next, Maddie. All for one, one for all. It's about the team. Kendall's there, you went with her. I don't think you've ever lost a duet with Ale, but the minute you have one with someone else you lose." Miss Abby says and shrugs.

"Nia, you did an ok job. I just don't see the feet getting any better. Moving up, Paige. You placed in the top five. That's an improvement. Next, Chloe. I thought you really stood out starting the group dance. Was the group fabulous? No. I think if your mother was more honest with you like she used to be two or three years ago, you would continue to improve. Next I have MacKenzie. You had a great solo but you came in second. Next I have Hannah. Your solo was amazing and you won. Yay! Guess what? You both are back in the group routines! If you can go against older girls and win, then you can dance with the older girls." Miss Abby said and we all clapped
