Alessia's pov
"Isn't it weird how, like, Kalani isn't here?" Nia asks us girls as we're stretching in the studio of 3rd street dance. I'm still in my black lululemon leggings, black sports bra and gray lululemon define jacket.

"After we danced, she was crying with us backstage. She was the one telling us that it was probably gonna be the last dance she was ever gonna do with us." Kendall adds

"What I'm more curious about is more Abby coming. I wonder if she's gonna show up today" Maddie speaks up

"I just think she has so much with her new studio and everything. Like, it's just overwhelming for her" I say as I'm in my straddle splits

"So, I mean, the competition this week was not, like, the perfect competition." JoJo tells us

"Yeah, not just, like, not winning, but also the fight." Maddie adds

"It's hard to see Kalani cry because we never see her cry" JoJo points out

"Honestly, I just really hope Abby shows up" Kendall shrugs.

Kenzie then starts kicking Maddie. "Stop! You are the most annoying little girl" Maddie yells as she pushes Kenzie away from her

I then take off my define jacket which reveals my black sports bra. I keep my black leggings on too. I then have Maddie do my bun for me before Gianna comes in. We follow her into our usual studio

"Okay, guys, just set your stuff down and we'll just start to warm up, ok?" Gianna tells us and we put all our bags on the side like usual. Our moms, minus my mom, then join us in the studio. My mom called me earlier and she said she should be here next week, but she's not sure since we do have a whole newborn baby at home, so it's kind of hard for her to leave, but she also really wants to be here with me in LA. She's not sure yet exactly what will happen.

"So, what is going on?" Jill asks Gianna

"Well, I'm just warming them up now." Gia begins

"Have you spoken with Abby?" Jill questions and Gia shakes her head. "But, do you know where we going this week?"

"We're going to Sheer Talent in Westminster. I know it's solo week" Gianna tells the moms and they gasp. "So everyone has a solo. And there's no group"

The girls and I stay in our splits while the moms talk for a couple more minutes before they leave

"So I think what we're doing this week is kind of just giving you guys solos completely across the board, completely different to get you guys ready for nationals, so Abby can really see who can step up to the plate" Gia explains to us

"And is this going to determine who has solos at Nationals?" Kendall asks

"We're kind of all across the board right now. Like, everyone's placing all over the place. So she's gonna be looking for if you have what it takes to do a solo at nationals" Gia replies

"I've never had a solo at Nationals" Nia adds

"You need to show her that I need a solo at nationals" Gia tells Nia. "And also, we could have more than one winner this week. If we cover three age divisions, we need to have three first overalls."

"So, I don't know if you guys know this, but I'm doing a performance with Kidz Bop this Saturday, which is when our competition is. But I just thought I'd tell you that. I do have that on Saturday." Jojo informs us

"Well, congratulations" Kenzie hugs her

"Thank you, boo" JoJo smiles

"I'm gonna start with Maddie" Gia turns her attention back to the solos and we nod and go sit over to the side.
