CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO.
CHENNAI.

"So, I've booked us a flight back to Abu Dhabi at 12 PM." Charles informed after they sat in the car after spending some well needed quality time at the beach. He intertwined their hands and started the car.

"Finally. I can't wait to get out of this place." Dariyah sighed in relief and turned to look at Charles' face with a soft smile. "You know I love you right?"

"Wouldn't hurt to be reminded every minute. Just saying." Charles shrugged his shoulders playfully, making her laugh.

"What did I do to deserve you?" Dariyah sighed, still admiring him not realising she said her thought out loud.

"Pretty sure it was the brownies." Charles nodded his head with a little smile, making Dariyah give him a sarcastic smile and smacking his hand softly.

"Thank you. For everything. I don't know what i'd ever do if not for you." Dariyah'e eyes filled up with tears as she looked away out the window.

"I didn't do anything, Brownies."

"You did more than we could ask for."

"It's funny your mother said the same thing." The couple shared a small laugh. "But seriously though, i didn't do anything. I just gave you a slight push, the rest? It was all you." Charles looked deep into Dariyah's eyes to make her believe in his words. "Anyways, did you really expect me to keep quiet when I found out what all my fiancè went through because of her shit of a step-father? My maman raised me right, Brownies."

And there it was again, Dariyah looked away at the mention of fiancè and became uneasy all of a sudden. Fortunately, this time, Charles noticed but he hadn't noticed why. "What's wrong? Are you still feeling cold? I have a sweatshirt in the back if you want it. Screw that, you are wearing it." Charles pulled over and turned back to grab his bag, grabbed the sweatshirt and threw it back again. "Hands up."

"I can wear it by my own, Char. I'm not a child." Dariyah playfully rolled her eyes at his tactics but her heart fluttering. What good deed I do to have this man as my love? Are you seriously feeling weird about being this man's fiancè, Dariyah? Of course, I am. He deserves someone who has never had her body tainted with sins, he doesn't deserve to marry someone like me.

"I don't care. I want to help. In any possible way I can." Charles told her with utter seriousness in his tone and the tender look on his eyes, which was hard for her to ignore. So, she gave in. He helped her put on the sweatshirt and afterwards tidied her messed up hair. After everything he pulled her into a short and sweet kiss and started the car up again, leaving Dariyah in a blushing mess.

It was currently 5 AM and knowing Dariyah didn't want to go back to her house, he just kept driving.

"Pull over." Dariyah stated all of a sudden, confusing Charles.

"Why?"

"Just do it." Despite being confused he did as she asked and pulled over beside a huge tree.

"Do you wanna go and see Sunrise with me?" Dariyah asked him with her doe eyes and anticipating smile.

"Can never say no to you." Charles answered in a daze. Smiling when he heard her laugh in excitement. Yeah, you're done for life, Charles Leclerc.
