CHAPTER FIFTY THREE.
MONACO.
"Spill." The youngest Leclerc was startled by Dariyah's voice. He cleared his throat, wiping off the sweat from his face which caused due to his nervousness.
"I don't know what you're talking about, sis."
"Cut the act. You can't lie for your life and i'm a really good lawyer." Dariyah smiled, creepily sweet.
"Pfft. I'm not lying."
"Not lying about what?" Lorenzo butted in the conversation, making Dariyah turn towards the older Leclerc.
"Arthur knows something about what Charles is gonna do which he's unwilling to share with me." Dariyah side-eyed the youngest Leclerc.
"I do not! That's a very serious accusation, sis. For which, you have no solid proof of as well. See, I can defend myself very well." Arthur smirked, "maybe I should become a lawyer instead." He muttered the last part to himself.
"D, I can assure you he doesn't know anything." Lorenzo defended his brother, placing a firm hand on his brother's shoulder, making him wince a bit.
Dariyah looked between the two before gasping, "you know it too!"
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Lorenzo raised his hands in surrender, his sudden high-pitched voice gave it away.
"Honey, why don't you just wait for a few minutes? It's the last lap." Pascale placed a soft hand on Dariyah's shoulder, making her purse her lips in defeat.
"You're right. I'm just feeling really anxious about all this." Dariyah gave the Leclerc's a tight smile.
"I'm sure it'd be alright." Alisha smiled at her daughter, bringing slight comfort in her.
"And that's a 1-2 for Ferrari! It's a home win for Charles Leclerc!"
"THAT'S MY MAN!" Dariyah jumped up in excitement, the two brothers joining in as well. Alisha and Pascale hugged each other in content with huge smiles in their faces.
Dariyah congratulated everyone in the garage for their hardwork that brought them their win.
•••
Dariyah was seated in the lounge of Scuderia Ferrari, watching the post-race interviews with her family, impatiently. She couldn't control her anxiety flowing out of her, knowing it was time for Charles to announce what he was going to announce.
Her ears perked up when an interviewer called out his name.
"Yes?"
"There's been a source claiming that you were going to make an announcement tonight? Is that true or not? And if it is, are we going to like it?" Dariyah's eyes narrowed at the last part of his question. Why does any decision we make in our lives should hold any importance in a stranger's life? And it wasn't just Dariyah who felt that way all other drivers and her family had the same disbelief looks on their faces.
"First of all, I'd like to make it clear that I never take my decisions based on whether you are going to like it or not. Second of all, yes, I do have an announcement to make tonight. Whether everyone likes it or not that's their problem, I'm happy with my decision and that's all that matters to me and my family." Dariyah and Pascale shared a soft smile, holding each other's hands.
