'Suffering Propriety'

Like a flower in vase which the one that you used to adore,
Water me every day, showed me love like never  before,
But over time I lost my blossom to your actions that are unkind,
Wilted alone but you seemed to pay no mind.

Tell me you love me the way you used to, Peter Pan,
I promised to wait for you as long as I can,
But you refuse to grow up and I'm getting tired of waiting,
Lost with your lost boys, lost me as the time ticking.

Even when the dark covered your night,
I was the fallen star, bringing you light,
The way you describe me was so delicate, so idyllic,
You dimmed my light, accusing me of being sick.

My sanguinity saved your ship from sinking down,
But you let go of my hand and would rather let me drown,
Abandoning the ship exactly the way you abandoned me,
Calling me the storm to your tranquility.

You made me your temple the way you worship me,
Told me I was the woman of your dream, your future that no one can foresee,
But now you're facing away, trying  to leave,
Hanging me dead but found yourself too numb to grieve.

You kept me in a cage like a rare bird,
Fed me illicit lies and fabricated words,
Told me the world was dangerous, showing bad omens,
Failed to realise you caged me solely for your amusement.

"Enough," they said pulling me away,
But I was too deep in love, no matter what they'd say,
Even if it's just a make-believe for you to still love me,
Finding myself consumed by this fatal fantasy.

The right person but there was never the right time,
Trying to fit the puzzle, trying to find the synonym that can rhyme,
It felt like watching your gaze slowly turn to hate,
I wonder if it's too late to cut open the seal of fate.
