Aaliyah walked over to Pepper who was talking with some fellow workers and an elderly man.
"Ali, I have a surprise for you." said Pepper, she dragged her best friend to the elderly man.
"Dad?" Aaliyah asked, she hugged him, Adam Cohen hadn't been to one of these events for Stark Industries since Howard Stark died.
"Have you left James and gotten together with Tony yet?" Adam asked, pulling his daughter away from the crowd talking to Pepper.
"Dad." Aaliyah groaned.
"Hey, I'll die a happy man when I discover that you've left that pompous brat for my godson." said Adam.
Aaliyah laughed.
"Speaking of the pompous brat, when's the wedding?" Adam asked.
"Still deciding." said Aaliyah.
"What aren't you telling me Liya?" Adam asked.
"I'm not sure there will be a wedding." Aaliyah admits.
"Tell me more." said Adam interested.
Aaliyah was about to speak, when a voice cut her off.
"Adam, it's been a long time." said Tony.
"How're you my boy?" Adam asked, hugging his godson.
"I've been better, now do you mind if I still your daughter away?" Tony asked.
"Be my guest." said Adam, Aaliyah glared at her father playfully.
Tony led Aaliyah to the dance floor, Tony kept one of Aaliyah's hands clasped in his own, his other moving to hold her waist as Aaliyah placed her left hand on his shoulder. The two swayed together to the classical music playing in the background, Tony smiled at Aaliyah, he got lost in her dark brown eyes.
"You look fantastic, I haven't told you that yet." said Tony.
Aaliyah smiled, she looked at the dress, it showed a bit of cleavage and the sleeves were off her shoulders, the dress was dark blue and there was some lace over the skirt, how Tony worked out Aaliyah's size, Aaliyah herself will never know.
"You got it for me on my-our twenty first birthday." said Aaliyah, correcting herself midsentence knowing Tony would remind her that they shared their birthday.
"I know and it looks fantastic." said Tony, Aaliyah gazed at her father who was talking to Pepper, hoping Tony would miss the blush that rose onto her cheeks, which he didn't miss, Tony smirked.
"I'm annoyed that you didn't tell me I never received an invite." said Tony, slightly miffed.
"Well, with everything going on, I didn't think you wanted to come." said Aaliyah.
