"Try to remember the kind of September. When grass was green," the soft, gentle voice of Maria Stark floated through the room accompanied by her piano as her husband, Howard Stark, walked through the door, in a deep conversation with Adam Cohen. Maria ceased her singing, casting a glance to the couch behind her and the lump under the blanket. "Wake up, dear, and say goodbye to your father."

"Who's the homeless person on the couch?" Howard commented, half sarcastic and half serious as Adam scoffed slightly amused. Young Tony Stark rose from the couch, eyeing his father evenly.

Young Aaliyah Cohen walked into the room.

Tony who was watching from the back froze when he saw Aaliyah, it was his own fault, he knew that but Aaliyah wasn't talking to him and he knew that he deserved it, when he checked his phone, seeing a missed call from Aaliyah about two hours ago.

"Go easy on him, Uncle Howie," Aaliyah commented as her father moved across the room, taking a seat on one of the other couches of the living room and grabbed the morning newspaper from the table. "He's been studying abroad."

"Oh yeah? Which broad?" Howard asks sarcastically.

"Candice." Young Aaliyah supplied as she sat herself next to Maria at the piano, Dalia owned the piano as well but she died a long time ago, Aaliyah, saw her mother's photo on the piano lid and looked at it closely before she stalked off to the kitchen.

Tony rolled his eyes at the comment from his best friend, Aaliyah Cohen stalked back into the room a few minutes later with a freshly made instant coffee to keep Tony going for the day, he took it off her hands and started sipping it.

Howard laughed as he watched Aaliyah stalk in and out the room.

"Your mother used to do that, a lot." Maria said wispily, she smiled as she remembered her best friend and twin brother.

"Try and make sure he doesn't burn the house down by Monday," Howard spoke to his goddaughter, who would be staying with Tony until his parents returned while Adam would be staying with Emma who'd moved in with her cousin and uncle in 1996 after her parents deaths.

"Okay, so it's Monday. That is good to know," Tony walked across the room, leaning on a wall by the piano as Aaliyah took a seat with her father and pointed out the score from the cricket game two nights before with England winning and Australia losing. "I will plan my toga party accordingly. Where you going?"

"Your father's flying us to the Bahamas for a quick getaway-"

"But we may have to make a quick stop."

"At the Pentagon. Right? Don't worry, you're gonna love the holiday menu at the commissary," Tony commented to his mother as she stopped playing the piano and intercepted the pillow that Aaliyah had chucked at Tony's head.
