A phone call from James Rhodes telling her to bring Isabella and Abigail to the Compound was not what Pepper Potts expected in her day, especially at 3:00 in the afternoon, but there she was leading the two girls inside, with nearly ten year old Abigail holding her little sister's hand as the two walked in after their aunt Pepper.

Abigail and Isabella, who was pretty much being dragged over by her sister, made a beeline for their mother, the brunette woman smiled and picked her two year old up and hugged her nine and a bit year old, while Aaliyah listened in on the meeting.

"Still no word on Vision?" Asshole Ross questioned.

"Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh," Rhodey replied.

"On a stolen Quinjet with four of the world's most wanted criminals," Rhodey scoffed and hugged Abigail who'd wandered over to her uncle Rhodey.

"You know they're only criminals because you've chosen to call them that, right, sir?" Rhodey sneered, sarcasm dripping from the word 'sir'. Ross raised an eyebrow.

"My God, Rhodes, your talent for horseshit rivals my own."

"If it weren't for those Accords, Vision would've been right here." Rhodey pointed out.

'And Steve wouldn't have to sneak away every night to Wakanda just to see his girlfriend and daughter.' Aaliyah thought evenly.

"I remember your signature on those papers, Colonel." Ross comments.

"And I'm pretty sure I paid the price for that." Rhodey clapped back, still keeping his niece close-by.

"You have second thoughts?"

"Not anymore."

Aaliyah and everyone else looked up at the sound of heavy footsteps on the floor. Her breath caught in her throat as Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff walked through the doorway, Wanda not far behind with Sam supporting an injured Vision. All of whom she hadn't seen for two years, she heard Steve's voice in the background of her and Emma's nightly phone calls but never seen him. Glancing over her old friends, Aaliyah saw the ways they had changed over the years. The star on Steve's chest was gone, a full beard on his face, which Emma either loved or hated. Natasha's hair was short, dyed a bright blonde in color. They looked tired, and done with all the shit that had happened in the last two years.

"Mr Secretary." Steve said.

"You got some nerve. I'll give you that." Ross comments.

"You could use some of that right now." Natasha clapped back.

"The world's on fire. And you think, all is forgiven?"

"I'm not looking for forgiveness. And I'm way past asking for permission. Earth just lost her best defender. So we're here to fight. And if you wanna stand in our way... We'll fight you, too." Steve warned the man.
