3 days later
Abbie's dress and hair
I had come in the night before the ball, hoping to avoid my family and stay for as little time as necessary. The trip from the hotel to my family's mansion in Mystic Falls was short but nerve wracking. I knew Rebekah and Kol were going to bombard me with questions, even though us 3 constantly texted throughout the day, Klaus was probably going to be the least excited with my arrival, but that was to be expected.
When the car came to a stop in the driveway, I got out, running my hands over my dress as looked at the house. At that moment , it felt like I had never left. Being here again was just filling my head with bad memories and screaming matches that led to my departure. I quickly pushed the thoughts out of my head, wanting to go in here and not stir up the least little bit of drama.
As I made my way towards the door, a voice behind me grabbed my attention. "I didn't want to come to this, but now I'm glad I did." I quickly turned around to see a dark haired guy, with sparkling blue eyes. They were mesmerizing but I could hardly see him as his eyes were looking down at my chest. "I'm sorry. Do I know you?" I cocked my head to the side. "Damon Salvatore." He smiled, shoving a hand in his pocket. "And you are?"
"Late. So if you don't mind." I turned walking towards the house, not caring to spend another minute stroking his ego. "So do you show up late to make more of an entrance? Because you in that dress will definitely have everyone's eyes on you." Was he really hitting on the first girl that he met?!
"Look, I'm not looking to dance or go home with anyone. I just want to go in here and get this over with, so I can go back home." I huffed out, as 2 people opened up the doors and revealed the party happening inside. "Sounds like we both were dragged here against our will. Why don't I get you a drink and we can talk about the people we hate for dragging us to this thing." I quickly turned around to look at him, just inside the door. "Look I don't know what language you need me to say it in, but I'm not interested."
Before he could say another word, he was stopped by a lighter brunette guy and a dark haired girl walking over to him. I took that as my chance, pushing my way through the crowd, to go upstairs where I know my family is waiting. "Abbie!!" I heard Rebekah squeal as I entered the room, quickly embracing her in the hug she pulled me into. "I really thought you weren't going to come." She mumbled into my hair, pulling back a second later. "Well I haven't missed one in nearly 100 years." I shrugged as I saw Kol come up to hug me.
