Abbie
"Don't you two look cozy." Damon drawls, walking through the backyard. I look up from my book, as Stefan sits up, putting his sunglasses on top of his head. "What do you want, Damon?" He rolls his eyes, putting the glasses back on top of his head. "I came to talk to you." He looks at Stefan and then me. I roll my eyes, bookmarking my page and putting it on the table beside me. "I'm going for a swim." I smile, standing up from my seat. He wanted me gone but it's my house and I'll eavesdrop when I want.
I dive into the water, resurfacing a couple of seconds later, to catch part of the conversation. "Elena is worried about you. Will you just talk to her and let her know you're okay and not being held against your will?" I snort out a laugh, making Damon turn to look at me. "I'm not holding anyone against their will.. yet. Imply I am again and it'll be you who needs saving." I smile sweetly, backstroking away.
"Why are you even staying here? The Mikaelson's aren't a family you want to get involved with." I stand up, pushing the water out of my face. "I'm sorry. Aren't you the one who slept with me and Rebekah?! You thought enough of us to take us to bed." I state, walking out of the pool, taking the towel Stefan hands me. "Call it bad judgment for a night. He's been here for weeks." I grip my towel tighter, as my jaw clenches. "You might be surprised how compromised one's judgment was at one point." I grit out, walking by him to check my phone.
"Rebekah will be here in a little bit. I'm going to go grab my bags." I tell Stefan, going back into the house. "So you're leaving. Now we're officially Mikaelson free." Damon grins, following me upstairs. "Leave her alone, Damon." Stefan warns. "Oooo. Are you defending your girlfriend now? That's cute." I spin around to face him, stepping closer to get in his face. "You can be a real ass, you know that?" I shout, before stepping away and laughing. "Are you so miserable with Elena, you have to come over here and make Stefan feel the same?" His jaw clenched and this time, he's the one closing the gap.
"In no way is being with a Mikaelson the better option. None of you are worth the pain you cause. So why don't you get it through that thick skull of yours, that you and my brother will never work. The same way that you'll never mean more to me than a stupid one night stand." He grinds out, getting in my face. "Damon.." Stefan warns louder. "No. Let him make himself look like a bigger fool." Rebekah's voice snaps all of us out of our trance. "Rebekah..." I warn, before rolling my eyes and grabbing my bags from my room.
"You need to tell him." She crosses her arms, watching me from her place on the steps. "Tell me what?" Damon asks, looking between us. "There's no reason. He's made himself very clear." I choke on the words, hating myself as the tears form in my eyes. "Abbie.." Stefan grabs my arm, making me look up at him. He stares at me, making this so much worse. He agrees with Rebekah and he's not going to give up. "Why? Why should I when he has made it so very clear how he feels about me?!" My voice cracks.
I went from having a good day with Stefan, to leaving and being forced to tell Damon everything. The very thing I was forced to rip from him. Giving him these memories back will only prove the Mikaelson's hurt innocent people. Taking things that don't belong to them and not caring what damage it does.
"Will someone tell me what is going on?!" Damon demands. I blink away my tears, letting my bags go and looking at him. His eyes seem to soften when he sees the tears running down my cheeks, but he doesn't say anything. I look into the eyes of the guy that I once loved, who's now in love with someone else. Someone who once wanted to marry me, now hates the very thought of having anything to do with me.
Taking the last couple of steps to stand in front of him, I wipe my eyes. "Don't fight me on this.." I whisper, watching his face shift into confusion. I take a deep shaky breath, hating every choice that has led up to this moment. Looking into his eyes, focusing on the pools of blue. The ones I feel so head over heels for. Ones I never thought would end up hating me.
