Abbie

Avery came over, squatting down beside me and pulled me out of Damon's arms and hugged me, stroking my hair. "He's not dead. We just snapped his neck." She spoke softly, thinking that would actually soothe me. "Why?" I whisper, barely able to fathom what was happening right now.

I felt her gaze shift, then I saw a pair of shoes standing in front of me. Damon stood up, looking Klaus square in the eyes. "You couldn't get to Elena, so you hurt your sister?" Damon barked. "Damon, don't." Rebekah warned, coming over to pull him away from Klaus. I pushed out of Avery's arms, slowly standing to my feet, wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Why?" I whisper, even then my voice still broke. The lump in my throat grew bigger by the second. "Why what, dear sister?" He smiled, the dark laugh rumbling in his chest. "Why did you bring him here? Why does it matter who I date?" I spoke firmly, only to feel Avery's body and hand tense up against me. I looked over at her, quickly reading her face, telling me he didn't know exactly what kind of relationship Lucien and I had.

I nearly choked on the bile, making its way up my throat. He poked around, probably watching me since I had been back, now with confirmation of our relationship. Seeing how he was the reason my last one ended by killing him.. the odds were in anyone else's favor but mine.

"Dating? Oh well, isn't that grand." He mocked, turning to pace the room. "Clearly you don't learn from previous experiences.. I will not stand here and have you throwing yourself at every commoner that pays you attention." He growled, his temper getting the best of him. "Commoner?" I scoffed, walking around the table closer to him. I noticed Lucien waking up, but I couldn't back down from Klaus now. Especially now. If I went to Lucien's side, instead of fighting back, he would take it as a sign of weakness.

"Lucien? Your first sire. The same person you saw yourself in, a 1000 years ago, is a commoner? Do you think yourself so high and mighty? You're not the self proclaimed king you deemed yourself to be." I nearly yelled, standing toe to toe with him. "He is a lesser man than me and always will be. Because I'm the bloody hybrid. People quake at the mere whisper of my name, I HOLD ALL THE POWER!"

We stare at each other for a minute, the anger bubbling over in both of us and anyone in the room can see that. "Elijah.. I suggest you get Damon and Stefan out of this house right now, before I rip his bloody head off." There was a small pause, before I could hear Elijah excusing both of them, Rebekah watching to make sure they leave. Avery came over, stepping between me and Klaus, placing her hands on his chest in an attempt to calm him.

That action alone was enough to break my focus, now channeling my anger towards her, not even caring what I said next. "Are you bloody kidding me? Are you siding with him?!" I scoffed. She turned around to face me, keeping a hand on Klaus' chest as if it would stop him. "Nobody is taking sides, Abs. I just think y'all need to take a minute to calm down."

"Fuck calming down. I have every reason to be upset.. he took everything from me while playing the victim." I spat, glaring at both of them. "a'more 'mio, let it go. You shouldn't have to explain yourself to him." Lucien spoke, his voice hoarse. "A'more 'mio? How lovely. You both have pet names for each other. Let me see if I can remember the translation for that term of endearment." He tapped his chin, only wanting to get under my skin.

"It means my love, you pompous ass. Not that anyone would've ever said it to you." I cocked an eyebrow up, refusing to give him what he wants. "Oh I'm not concerned about that. I'm just wondering what your and Zeke's pet names were." I dropped my arms, balling my fist, fighting the urge to rip out his heart. "Don't say his name." I threatened, only getting an evil grin from him.

"My apologies. Still a sore subject, I see. I didn't mean to seem so heartless." The chuckle that left his lips, made me see red, lunging out towards him, before Lucien stopped me. "Abs.. Hey. Hey! Look at me. Let's just go upstairs and take a breath." He pulled me into a hug, trying to help calm me down. That was until Rebekah butted in.
