Abbie
"Dr. Kate!" I look up to see Natalie Martin waving me over. I've been to the school a few times, and talked to Natalie each time. I've gotten to know and get close to all of their parents. Which is weird, because I'm closer to their kids' ages than theirs. Hell, they're kids actually older than me.
"Please, call me Abbie." I sigh. We've gone over this so many times, but she insists on calling me by my title. She said I worked hard for it and deserve the recognition. It's weird to me.
She waves me off and pins me with a pleading look. "If I remember correctly, you signed up to be a proctor for the SAT's this morning?" I nod, my brows pinching together. "I did, but they told me I would just be a fill-in if someone needed to step out for a minute."
She shakes her head, tugging me towards one of the classroom doors. "I need you to help with this class. Coach can't help, so we need you to help." I nod, grateful to not just have to sit around and wait.
I took the morning off to proctor the SAT this morning. The main reason being Scott, Stiles, Malia and Kira were going to be here. I didn't like them being in a nearly empty school with no help and an active Deadpool.
"Yeah, no problem." I follow her into the classroom, going over to the desk where the test administrator is waiting. "Is this our other proctor?" He asks Natalie like I'm not standing right here. I sit my keys on the table and smile at him.
"Abbie Kate. Let me know if you need help with anything." I give him a smug smile, holding my hand out for him to shake. He glances at it, before looking away and nudging an ink pad towards me.
"Volunteer proctors need to be fingerprinted. You can do that while we start the test." He stands up, turning his back towards the class to write on the board, as Natalie passes out the test. I flip him off, hearing some chuckles before he turns around and addresses the room.
I press each finger into the pad, stamping each one in the corresponding box and then signing my name. I open the desk drawer, finding a bottle of hand sanitizer. I squirt some onto my hand, hissing from the burn when it hits my finger tips.
I checked them over and didn't find any cuts, which is weird. Why would it burn if I'm not cut? I put some in my other hand, waiting to see if it burns, but it doesn't. Weird.
When I notice the test has already started, I feel someone tap the back of the chair. I look over to see the smug asshole. "I'll take my chair back now." I turn away, rolling my eyes as I stand up. Of course he wants to sit for the next three hours. I knew I shouldn't have worn heels.

We're about 20 minutes into testing and I've just made my way around the room, when a girl collapses out of nowhere. "Sydney!" Natalie gasps, rushing over, causing everyone to become more concerned about the scene playing out.
"You have 5 minutes left in this portion. Focus on your test." I redirect their attention away from the girl, slowly walking over to them. We went over protocol for this. One of us is to tend to the student, while the other stays focused.
I'm perfectly fine with that, because that means I can keep a close eye on my kids. I don't like the thought of her being a distraction, but I'm definitely going to be paying more attention to my 4.
"Mrs. Martin, do I need to stop the test?" Natialie looks panicked as she shakes her head. "No. Everything's fine." The proctor nods, taking his seat again.
"Abbie." Natalie waves me over, stepping away from the girl she just helped. "I need to step outside. Will you make sure everyone stays here?" I nod, watching as she leaves the room. Stiles is watching me, so I subtly shake my head and point back to his book. He needs to worry about his education right now and trust I'll protect them from whatever happens.
