It was the first few days of spring and the days were finally getting warmer, allowing me to pack up the fluffy winter coats and long sleeves that I dreaded so much. I much preferred summer time. The tanning, spontaneous beach trips, parties, the whole nine yards that summer had to offer.

With the new season, it brought out a rare side of my brother, putting him in a forgiving mood and leading him to undagger Kol and Rebekah. Along with this charitable mood, Klaus also had a demand of his own, one he specifically wanted to task me with.

"Abbie Kate." Klaus called, knocking on my door before walking in. "Hey, I was just finishing up with my closet. Do you want me to do yours next? I know how much you hate doing it!" I rambled, laughing at how much he loathed the season change. "Maybe some other time. Right now I have a favor to ask." He spoke, going over to sit on the sittee I had in my room.

"I'm not cooking dinner for you tonight. I've taken your turn the last 3 times." We both laughed as he shook his head. "Not that. Although, now that you bring it up, I really have a craving for your lasagna." He smirked, getting an eye roll and a smile back. "Tell me what your favor is and I'll see if I feel generous enough today." He sat up straighter, his face holding a more slightly serious look.

"I've asked the wolves in the bayou for that house we all loved and they said they wouldn't do business with me or any Mikaelson for that matter. I was wondering if you would go down and maybe use some of your cunning and witty Mikaelson charm and maybe persuade them into letting us have that house." He smiled, leaning back waiting for my response.

"Nik, you know the vampires and the wolves are never going to see eye to eye with anything. They're not just going to hand over their land after everything their people have lost." I sighed, sitting on my bed. "That's why I need you to go there and do whatever it is you do to get me what I want. You always were the best at getting me what I want." He smirked, making me smile and shake my head.

"All this talk about how I always get you what you want. All I've ever wanted was a little bit of freedom to travel the world, Nik." I playfully rolled my eyes, hoping this once, he would grant me the smallest bit of freedom to travel like I've always wanted. Ever since I was a little girl, I've wanted to travel to all these places our father would tell us about, see the world and what it had to offer. All I wanted was 6 months.. just 6 months and I would come back home and play the duty full little sister I always have.

"If you can get me what I want, I'll reconsider your proposal on this adventure of yours." He agreed, trying to disguise his quickness with a stern scowl. That didn't stop me from hopping up from my spot on the bed and running over to hug him. "Thank you, Nik! I'll return soon.. hopefully with a new house." I cheered, getting up and rushing out of my bedroom.

I trekked through the woods, having been out here a few times on my brother's behalf, I was no stranger to the stagnant backwaters of the bayou. The camp coming closer into view, the familiar buzzing of talking and laughter filled the air. I always wondered what it would've been like to embrace and dig deeper into mine and Nik's werewolf side. To be around people who understood the same curse we were born into, finding the silver lining of it all.

Nik always hated the idea of being anything more with the werewolf or witch factions, only wanting to be the superior species and have people fear the original family and the one and only hybrid. With my werewolf and witch side being hidden from the world, I was never allowed to spend more than an hour or two alone with either faction, in fear of them uncovering my secret.

All I ever wanted was to run wild and free under a full moon with a pack of wolves, or practice all types of spells with covens I met along the way as we moved around. All I ever wanted was to focus more on my other 2 abilities than focusing on just my vampire side. That's a story for another time, right now, I have to persuade the New Orleans Crescent wolves to lend my family some land that we already took majority of back in the 1800's.. which almost led to the extinction of this very pact. Completely reasonable request.
