Klaus and I were sitting around in the study, which wasn't normal for us, especially at 2 am. I wanted to wait up for Abbie, knowing she was probably out drinking considering how late it was. Klaus said he had some work to do, but each time he looked at the clock, I could see the anger in his eyes. He was waiting for Abbie too.

It was about 15 after 2 when the front door opened and I could hear Abbie trying to quietly shush someone. For fuck sake.. did she really bring someone home? Klaus and I practically jumped up from our spots, going into the foyer to see a drunk Abbie over Damon's shoulder. The fear in Damon's eyes was exactly how I was feeling.

Abbie propped up, turning to face us. "Uh oh. We're busted." She shimmied down the front of Damon, wrapping her arm and legs around him. "Sorry. Guess we'll have to pick this up next time." She laughed, leaning in and kissing him. For fuck sake, was she trying to get us all killed. There was no question that the growl that came after was from Klaus.

I quickly stepped over to them, as Damon put down the now giggling Abbie. "Did you drink the bar dry, Abs?" I looked her over, as she giggled, looking at Klaus. Fuck. "Nikky!!" She squealed, draping her arms around him. His expression softened for a minute, when her arms wrapped around him, but hardened when he looked back at Damon.

"Babe.. why don't you take Abbie to bed and I'll see Damon out?" I offered, watching as Klaus stared at him a little longer, before looking at me. "I'll see him out. I have some questions for him." He went to move Abbie, but her grip tightened. "Don't leave me, Nik." She whined. There was no doubt the change in his mood. His soft spot for her. He huffed, wrapping her around him and turning to start up the steps, but stopping to look at us again.

"We'll talk about this later." He turned and walked up the steps, Abbie looking as if she already passed out on his shoulder. I looked at Damon, motioning him through the still opened door, following him out and pulling the door closed.

"Did you only bring her home to sleep with her?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. "What? No. I wanted to make sure she got home safe." I wasn't buying it. "So what was all that about next time?" He rolled his eyes, letting out a breath. "Look, I made a move earlier, but she shut me down. She proceeded to drink a whole bottle of tequila, going back for another. I stopped her and brought her here." He ran a hand through his hair, probably fearing Klaus would come out here and torture him over tonight.

"She was so drunk, she couldn't even compel the bartender. Which by the way she practically offered herself up to. Y'all really shouldn't let her go drinking alone." He waved his arm towards the house. I cocked an eyebrow up, entertained by his reaction to drunk Abbie. "She's always been like that drunk, so I'm not surprised. Don't worry, she'll regret it all tomorrow and never speak of it again. Thank you for bringing her home." He nods, but is not moving to leave. He just looks at the house.

"Don't worry. I'll talk to them and explain what happened." His eyes blew wide and I couldn't help but laugh. "Leaving out the part of you making a move." I could see the relief wash over him, making me smile. "Goodnight, Damon."

"Goodnight, Aves."
