Avery
The house was strangely quiet this morning. Usually somebody was always here but I knew Abbie was still out, Klaus had a fitting for his tux this morning, Kol and Elijah should've gone with him, since all their fittings are together. So I guess Rebekah was the only one missing this morning.
I rounded the staircase, heading towards the kitchen when I heard my name. "Avery.. can I speak with you for a moment?" I turned around to see Elijah in the doorway of his study, dressed and groomed at 8 o'clock in the morning. "I'm starving. Can we do this in the kitchen?" I whine, seeing him nod and follow me.
"I thought about what you said last night and while I might not agree with all of it, I think you might have a point." I nod, as I struggle to reach Kol's box of pop tarts. I have a habit of stealing his and this is his way of trying to deter me. Elijah comes over, reaching the box with ease and handing it to me, but not letting it go.
"I need to talk to Abigail and I noticed she didn't come home last night. Do you know where she is?" I huff, taking a sleeve out of the box and walking away. "She should be home soon. She stayed at Elena's last night." I didn't dare look at him when I fed him the lie, knowing he would believe it as much as I did. There's a reason we always joked about Kol believing her lies.
"Go get ready and we'll go pick her up." He stated, putting the box back and buttoning his suit. I opened my mouth to say something, but he held his hand up, making me close my mouth. "I wasn't asking and I promise she's not in trouble. Now, hurry along before I can't keep my promise and we have Kol and Niklaus judging us.
I nodded, slipping off the chair and going upstairs. God, Abbie's lucky Elijah has discretion. Had Kol or Klaus noticed she didn't come home, this story would have a completely different ending. She also owes me big time for covering for her, but I might kill her if she blew it last night with Damon.. unless she blew it. I laugh to myself, opening my bedroom door and quickly getting dressed.

Elijah knocks on the door of the Salvatore house, tucking his hands back in his pockets as we wait. He didn't question when I told him to turn into the driveway of their house, I think I saw him smile, realizing I wouldn't take the lie further. I just prayed Abbie saw my 20 texts warning her that we were coming.
Stefan opened the door, shirtless and rubbing his eyes before noticing me and then Elijah. He looked back at me, confusion written across his face. "We're here to pick up Abigail. I was told she was here." Elijah says nonchalantly, making Stefan's heart start to race. "Yeah. She's here. Come in." He opens the door more, stepping aside for us to walk in. I gave him a look telling him to chill out, as we walked into the living room.
"Which room did she stay in? I'm sure she's still asleep?" Stefan gives me another look, but I just nod, knowing she would've gone back to her room. "First door on the left." Stefan jerked his chin, crossing his arms as Elijah took off up the steps. "Damon's room?!" I whispered, but not sticking around for him to answer.. I already knew it.
I vamped into the room, seeing Elijah a couple of steps in, looking at the pair. Damon was on the far side with his back towards us, halfway covered by the sheet. Thankfully Abbie was covered and facing toward us, but neither of them felt our presence.
We watched them for a couple more seconds before Elijah cleared his throat. Damon was the first to shuffle, mumbling in his sleep. "Go away, Stefan. It's not even noon." Noon? How late were you two up? I smile to myself but quickly drop it when I hear Abbie. "That was Elijah not Stefan." Does she think she's dreaming? I bit back a laugh, knowing Elijah was enjoying this too.
Just as she started to drift back off to sleep, her and Damon both shot up in the bed, looking at us. "Elijah?! What are you doing here?!" She had on a black shirt that I knew wasn't hers, but still wasn't sure if they had sex, considering she came over in her cheer uniform and would have to borrow a shirt.
Nevermind. I can see her ripped panties hanging off the end of the bed. Did Elijah notice them? "Get dressed and meet us downstairs. We need to go home and talk." He turned, leaving the room, leaving me there with a confused Damon and a paused off Abbie. "Why did you tell him I was here?! You couldn't have warned me?!" She huffed, getting out of the bed, smoothing out the shirt.
"I didn't tell him anything. He knew you didn't come home last night and told him you would be home soon. He insisted we come get you so y'all could talk. He promised me you weren't in trouble, so quit stressing and get dressed." I turned to walk out the door, stopping just as I entered the hallway. "Damon.. did you at least enjoy the book?" I laughed as Abbie's face instantly went red, dodging a pillow she threw at me.
A couple minutes later, Abbie and Damon are walking downstairs, Abbie in her cheer uniform from yesterday. Elijah drapes his coat over her shoulders, nodding to both guys and walking out of the house. I follow behind, waiting for Abbie to catch up. "Thanks for letting me stay. I'll text you both later." They both nod as she turns around, seeing me smiling at her. "Go away, Aves." She side eyed me, waving me off.
Nobody did anything during the car ride, it wasn't like we knew we were in trouble, but still nervous about what he had to say. "I want my own house, Elijah." Abbie blurts from the backseat, making me turn to look at her. She ignores me and looks at Elijah through the rearview mirror. "I'll stay in Mystic Falls and do whatever you ask of me, but I need my own space. Klaus is still acting like he's not in the wrong and I'm sick of it. I want my own place and then maybe things will get better between us."
I knew her reasoning for helping her and Klaus was a load of crap, but she knew how to get Elijah to do whatever she wants, even though all she had to do was bat her eyes most of the time. Elijah didn't answer, keeping his eyes on the road as Abbie picked at her nail beds, but clearly getting annoyed that she was being ignored. Just as she opens her mouth to keep her argument going or yell at him for ignoring her, he cuts her off.
"Pick out a house and let me know how much you'll need. I expect you to keep your grades up and no boys are allowed to stay over." He glares at her through the mirror as she nods, returning his eyes to the road. I sit back in my seat, letting out a huff before looking at Elijah. "I don't get a stupid house." I mumble, seeing him smile out of the corner of my eye. "I'm sure Niklaus will get you any house you want."
"Like he'll ever leave you. Little Miss. Perfect back there just bats her eyes and waves her finger and she gets what she wants, even though you just caught her in bed with Damon." Abbie scoffs, but not bothering to argue back, too busy looking at homes on her phone. Elijah smiles harder but has a serious note in his voice. "I expect you to keep that between us. None of us want to deal with Niklaus' tantrums right now."
I roll my eyes, sinking in my seat, knowing he's right. Doesn't mean I have to like it. I'm glad Abbie had one night and Elijah will back her up if the other boys somehow figure out she didn't come home, but some part of me resented Abbie for being so oblivious to their generous and protective nature.
