Avery
Everyone had gone to bed and after hearing what went down at the school and then first hand between Abbie and Elijah, I waited till nobody was up to sneak downstairs for a snack. I wasn't sleeping in mine and Klaus' shared bedroom since he pissed me off earlier and he came back home fuming. It was better for the both of us to give each other space and talk about it when he's calmed down.
As I was starting up the steps, there was a quiet knock on the door, knowing everyone was here and we were expecting no one, I prepared to kill anyone on the other side of that door. I slowly opened it, seeing a tall, dark hair, blue eyed man standing there. Definitely looked nervous about being here but relieved when I opened the door.
"Can I help you?"
"I was wondering if Abbie was here?"
"And you are?"
"Damon." My eyes blew wide and swung the door open some more so I could stand on the porch, quietly shutting the door behind me. "Are you insane?! I don't know who you are personally but I know you and your brother are at the top of Klaus' kill list." I whisper yelled, hoping he would realize that showing up here is a death wish.
"I know that.. but Abbie saved my friend, my brother's girlfriend tonight and I was hoping to talk to her and say thank you." He looked desperate for me to believe the lie, clearly he had no idea who I was. "Abbie can't talk right now, not that anyone in this house would let her."
"He daggered her?!"
"Shhh! Will you lower your voice before you get us both killed?!" I eyed him over, before peaking my head in the house to see if anyone heard. After quietly closing the door again, I huffed and crossed my arms. "She ain't daggered, but the night is still young. Especially with you showing up here to talk to her." He rolled his eyes, running his hand down his face. "Can you just tell her to text me? She had my number. I just want to thank her for everything tonight.. I know how hard that must've been for her." He sighed, realizing he wasn't getting further than the front door.
"It wasn't a hard decision for her." I sighed, hoping to give him some relief, only to see the confusion burn deeper in him. "She's never agreed to her brother's murderous tendencies. Whether it's someone she loves and cares for or someone she's never met, she will always try to protect them from him. She's always done it." He nods, not really sure what to think with that information, but I could see a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"I'll let her know to stop by and to text you if she has a moment. Goodnight, Damon." I smiled, turning back towards the door. "Goodnight.. I'm sorry. I didn't get your name." I turned back and smiled. "Avery Harris." His eyes blew wide, realizing how I was associated with the Mikaelson's. As much as I hate to admit it, I was more associated with the Mikaelson name than Abbie was. Another thing that always got people's attention was that I was Klaus Mikaelson's fiancé. Virtually making me untouchable like Abbie and Rebekah. One of the most powerful women to walk this earth and any that came after us, soon left it.
"I see my reputation precedes me." I smiled, quietly laughing as he stood frozen as if scared to move. "I'll pass along your message. You should go before someone catches you." He nods, quickly taking back off down the driveway. I sighed, smiling to myself as I reentered the house, going straight to Rebekah's room.
I have every intention of giving Abbie the message, I just know she needs tonight to think. Once I entered Rebekah's room, as she sat on her bed, scrolling through her phone. I gave her her blood bag and took my spot on the bed, looking over at her with a smile. "You'll never believe who just stopped by."
"Who?" She sat up, matching the smile I wore. "Damon Salvatore. He was here to see Abbie!" Her eyes blew wide and had to hold back a scream I knew she wanted to let out. "You're bloody kidding?! After everything tonight, he showed up here.. to talk to her?!" I nod, taking another sip from the bag. "He wanted to come by and thank her for saving Elena. Then he was worried about her being daggered and when I told him that Abbie would've saved anyone Klaus was trying to kill.. he almost looked happy and sorta proud of her. I think he has a crush on her."
"He definitely does. He came to the school a couple months back, pulled me out of class, just to ask me about her. Then tonight at the grill, he flirted with her the whole night and innocent Abbie couldn't have been more oblivious." She snorted. "So do you think he'll be dumb enough to make a move?" She shrugged, taking the last sip out of her bag before discarding it.
"Stefan and I have a wager on it. We both think he's crazy enough to do it. He has money for 2 months, I say 4.. now we're just waiting to see." She laughed. "If we're considering how long it'll take Abi to realize he's even hitting on her.. put me down for a year. There's no way it'll be before then." We both laughed as we sat back and carried on with our movie night.
