Abbie
Abbie's outfit (without the jacket)
Lucien and I walked through the airport, hand in hand as we made our way to the exit. "Why are you so nervous?" I asked, watching as he nodded towards our driver. "Oh maybe because I'm about to see your lunatic brother, who is also my sire, after 900 years and tell him I'm dating his baby sister." He rushed out, grabbing my bag from the curb to load it in the trunk.
"You have nothing to worry about." I reassured him, handing him my weekender bag. He stopped, giving me a knowing look and I rolled my eyes. "Okay yes we're telling my family, which just happens to be Nik, that we're dating.. but I won't let anything happen to you." He shuts the trunk and motions for me to the door of the town car, the driver held open for us.
"How do you plan on doing that?" He asked, intertwining his fingers with mine, pulling me into him. "Simple, we just avoid telling Nik, Elijah, Rebekah and Kol." We both laughed. "So we're not telling anyone?" He snorted, getting a laugh accompanied by a shrug from me. "We can tell Avery!" I stated looking up at him.
"What is that about?"
"What?"
"Klaus and this Avery girl."
"Avery and I had been friends for a couple of decades and I invited her to one of the Mikaelson balls and that's where she met Klaus. She's had him wrapped around her finger since." I smiled, thinking about how Avery was able to calm Klaus most times with a simple touch or just by looking him in the eyes. Honestly if I didn't know any better, I would think she compelled him.
"So the great Niklaus Mikaelson has finally settled down?" He laughed. "God, please don't say that around him. The house won't be big enough to hold his ego." I laughed, watching as we pulled up to the hotel.
After we checked in with the host, getting the keys and unpacking.. we were finally settled in. "Okay the sooner I get over there, the sooner I can get back. You sure you'll be okay here away from any of my siblings and your premium cable." I sassed, rolling my eyes as I grabbed the keys and my bag. He gets up from the couch, walking over to me, placing his hands on my hips. "I love you. Be safe , a'more 'mio (my love)"he leaned in kissing me.
"I love you! Don't wait up for me. I'm sure Bekah will find some reason to keep me longer." I gave him another quick kiss before leaving the house. The car rental place dropped off our rental about an hour before we got there, so it was a relief I didn't have to keep my family waiting any longer.
"Hey! I'm here." I called out, not hearing any bickering or door slams like I'm accustomed to. "We're in here." Elijah called out from the study. I walked in, seeing everyone seated in the room, a spot left open between Avery and Rebekah on the couch, which I quickly took. "Hey Aves! Couldn't stay away could you?" I laughed, hoping she didn't just come back for Klaus. "You know Rebekah can't handle having both of us away." She joked back, earning a scoff from my sister.
"I'm right here." She rolled her eyes. I leaned over, hugging her, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "Missed you, Bekah."
"Missed you too, little sister." We pulled away, as the boys finished up their side conversation. "So who are you shacking up with, Kate?" Kol asked, definitely taking on the overprotective big brother role. "Some person passing by on the beach. Is that why y'all had me come home?" I quirked up an eyebrow, folding my arms over my chest.
"No, but we will discuss your living arrangements later." Elijah spoke, sending a glare I've received only a handful of times in my lifetime. "The plan is quite simple.. even you lot, can't screw this up." Klaus chipped up, laughing at his own words. "I'm taking Elena Gilbert tonight and I need each one of you as a distraction. Kol is handling Jeremy, Rebekah will take Stefan, Abigail will take Damon and E-.."
"Why am I on Damon duty?" I leaned up, looking right into my brother's eyes. "Because he seems to fancy you for whatever reason. Don't worry.. I plan to kill him the second I have what I want." His words made a lump form in my throat. I didn't know the guy, but him being killed over a crush was not a worthy cause. "Elijah will be with me to run interference for any mishaps that may occur. Any questions?"
"Where are you going to be?" I turned to look at Avery, only getting an eye roll in return. "Your brother benched me." I cut my eyes over to Klaus, mad because I had to come home when she would've taken my spot and also because she's the only one being protected. "Nonsense, you can join me." I smiled over at her. "Absolutely not. You will all do as told and Avery will stay here." We both glared at each other, daring the other one to make the first move. "It's fine. I have some stuff around here I can do to keep busy." Avery says, standing up, heading out of the study. Klaus stands up as well, grabbing her wrist to stop her and lean in to kiss her. She quickly pulled back, putting her hand up to stop him.
"I'll see you when you get back." I had to fight back a giggle as I watched the exchange. I felt bad for Avery, but Klaus deserved it since he kept her in this bubble for far too long. "Well I'm not staying here any longer. Text me where Damon is and I'll make sure he's occupied." I huff out, pushing myself up off the couch. "Abigail, make sure you find me tonight before you go to bed." I pause, trying to gauge exactly how bad his lecture will be tonight.
I give up, just deciding to deal with it when I get back. I continue to walk out the house, passing Kol standing in the doorway of the study. "Try not to catch something tonight." He laughed. "Piss off , asshole." I scoffed. "Language , Abigail!" Elijah scolded me, only making Kol laugh once more. Rebekah followed me out to my car, stopping at the passenger door.
"Stefan and Damon are together. Mind if I catch a ride? It'll be less obvious if we go in together."
"That's fine. Get in." I spoke , swinging my own door open.
