Abbie
Elena and Stefan had left about 20 minutes after we finished lunch, heading over to the hospital to let Dr. Fell collects Elena's blood. Damon and I had decided to hang around for a drink and play a round of pool until I decided to go over to see Klaus.
So that's where we are now. I had just taken my turn, watching Damon stalk around the table to find his shot. "I'm just still trying to wrap my head around you being a Mikaelson." He cringes, stopping at the end of the table, but not lining up his shot, he looks at me holding a serious expression. "I haven't even seen you feed on anyone, much less a blood bag. How are you related to any of them?" I laughed and placed my hand on my hip as I watched him line up the shot.
"I've asked myself that everyday for 1000 years. I'll let you know when I finally get my answer." He takes his shot, standing back up and going around the table to stand across from me, resting his chin on the top of the pool stick. "Does your family always leave you in the dark with secret missions and then drag you in as a distraction?" I roll my eyes and shake my head. "I've prevented a lot of people being killed by my family, but some fall through the cracks, Elena nearly being one of them. They purposely did it the way they did, hoping I wouldn't find out."
"So I'm assuming you take dagger naps as well?"
"Actually, I've never been daggered." He quirked up an eyebrow, his eyes following me as I round the table to line up my shot. "I know. It surprises me too.. but I've never received that as a punishment. I do like naps though. It's my favorite pastime when I want to avoid all my problems." I flash him a smile, which he quickly returns, turning into a laugh.
"So how are you a witch and a vampire?" He asked as I bent over for my shot. "That's a long story, which I have no desire to tell you, because I actually like you and if I tell you, I have no doubt my brothers will kill you." I smile at him, before taking the shot. One of my solid color balls pockets right away, another rolling around before pocketing in the middle pocket across from me. I turned to walk around to line up my next shot, only to see Damon right there in front of me.
"So you like me?" The smug grin on his face made me roll my eyes and step around him to continue walking. "I don't want to see you dead, is that better?" I asked, standing there waiting before making my next move. "You know Rebekah's chained me up before, right? It would've been hot if she wasn't torturing me." He walks around behind me, pressing himself up against my back. "Too bad it wasn't the Mikaelson sister I wanted." His lips grazed my ear, as his fingers ghosted down my arm.
I inhaled a sharp breath, as my eyes fluttered shut, feeling goosebumps erupt on my skin as his fingers stroked my arm. I didn't even know vampires could get them. Not only did he give me cold chills, when he got to my wrist, I got the same flashes I did when I shook Stefan's hand. It looked to be of the same time period.. Maybe the same memory? They are brothers.. it would make sense.
His fingers continue to trace lightly against my skin, as if we were both in a trance, honestly I was.. the same fleeting memory on repeat in my head. I could see his charming smile beaming at me, his black whisky curls falling under the brim of his hat. I could feel the emotions from that moment.. happiness.
I snapped out of my thoughts, realizing I still hadn't said anything back. I quickly shook off whatever that was and turned around, deciding to act like I didn't just have a daydream of him. As I turned around, breaking whatever spell had come over both of us and looked him in the eyes. "Sorry to break your heart.. but I much rather be the one tied up." I winked but my expression quickly faded when I saw his expression.
"Did you not feel that?" Shit. "Feel what?" I asked, shrugging my shoulders, praying this wasn't anything like what happened between me and Stefan. "When I got close to your hand.. It was almost like fireworks and alarms going off. How did you not feel it?" I gulp, giving him a casual shrug. "I don't know what you're talking about." He takes a step closer to me, closing the already small gap between us and looking into my eyes.
"You're telling me, you didn't feel what I could only describe as a spark between us.. and you didn't feel it?" I quickly shook my head, hoping he would let it go. "Another thing you don't have in common with your family.. you're a terrible liar." My mouth closed, but opened again, probably making me look like a fish out of water. As dry as my mouth and throat were, it seemed like I was.
He stared into my eyes, I'm not sure what he was looking for but he already knew I felt it.. was he wanting more? I don't even know what to make of whatever I just had.. much less give him anything he's searching for. A throat clearing behind him got both of our attention, only making Damon tense up once he turned around.
"Moving on to my baby sister, are you now Damon? Rebekah sure won't be pleased." He huffed, stepping onto the last step shuffling around the table towards me. "I've been calling and texting you all day, Kate." Kol huffed, crossing his arms and leaning against the pool table. "I've been busy, now if you don't mind, it's my turn." I shoo him away, lining up my shot as he made his way over to Damon.
"Don't get any ideas, Mate. I let it slide with Bex but if you as much as, think about her like that.. I'll take my time removing every appendage that could touch her." I roll my eyes and shoot my shot, watching the balls move across the table but not going to a pocket. "Leave him alone, Kol. We were just having a friendly game of pool before you showed up." I smiled at Damon, getting one in return before I took a sip of my drink.
"Your lips will be the first to go." Kol mumbled as he walked past Damon to stand beside me again. "This game is over, baby sister. Say your goodbyes and let's go." He leaned off the railing, but stopped when we all saw Avery walking up the steps. "So you did know where she was after all?" Kol accused, not taking his eyes off Avery. "No.. but Mystic Falls only has 2 places to go, so.." she trailed off, taking my glass from me and drinking the last bit of the drink.
"Do y'all have some type of radar that goes off whenever a guy talks to me?" I sassed, pushing off the railing to take my turn again. "Guess you won't know till you quit sneaking off." Kol quipped back. "I wasn't sneaking around. I met Elena for lunch to discuss our arrangement. I decided I didn't want to go back just yet, so I stayed and asked Damon if he wanted to hang out with me. Sorry I didn't return back to my prison cell the second I was done with my task." Avery and Damon both stifled a laugh, earning a glare from Kol.
"I'm not repeating myself, Kate. Get your things and let's go." He demanded. Before I could argue back, a pair of hands gripped my waist before a kiss was pressed to my check. "I see I'm the last to the party." Lucien laughed, as I turned to kiss him. "Never. Let us finish this game and then you and Avery can join us in the next round." He nods, letting go of my hips as Damon dips down to shoot.
"Acting like I'm not here, won't make me go away." Kol hissed. Watching me walk around the table. I rolled my eyes and looked over at Avery. "Can you keep him entertained while we finish this game?" Avery laughed, shaking her head. "Even if I did manage to shut him up, Elijah sent me to come find you. We're having dinner together tonight." She turns her attention to Lucien beside her. "You're coming too and don't try to argue or fight me on it, because I'll definitely win." She smiled, turning back to watch me and Damon play the rest of our game.
Lucien was older than Avery by at least 200 years, still didn't stop the flash of fear in his eyes when she said it. Hell I would've been scared for him if he argued back. He could've feared that she was Klaus' fiancé or it could've been her reputation that instilled that fear.. probably both. Nobody ever tested it to see which one it really was though.. Nobody that's living at least.
