After Abbie trapped us in the house, we agreed I would go home to wait for her there in case she had the dumb idea to go back. Lucien stayed back, promising to call me the second she came back there. We figured Abbie would try to find a way to keep the peace with Klaus no matter what. She's always tried her best to keep her siblings in line and from killing anyone who didn't bow down to them. What she doesn't know is she sees very little of the blood soiled clothes and piles of the dead bodies we've all left in our wake.. and she never will.
The family may never see eye to eye on anything, but we all wanted and agreed to keep Abbie away from the evils of the world and the family's.
My heels clicked across the marble floors, as I made my way through the house, hoping to find anyone but Klaus right now. Just like an answered prayer, Kol starts to descend the staircase, just as I was crossing the foyer, heading towards Elijah's study. I don't know why I didn't start there, Elijah was almost always in his study.
"Where's Kate? Her phone is practically glued to her face but she can't seem to be bothered to answer any of my texts." He rolled his eyes, making his way down the stairs. I stop, looking up at him, pressing my lips together as I scramble to find a response. "She had some things to do today. I'm assuming she hasn't been here?" He raises an eyebrow at me, stopping on the step in front of me, looking over the railing.
"I've seen her text a short story, while practicing magic older than her and all the sudden she can't text back because she's busy?" His interest was peaked, descending the rest of the staircase, rounding the railing to stand directly in front of me. "Tell me where my baby sister really is and why you're covering for her." Kol demanded, giving me a smirk, that I've only seen when he's trying to keep his cool. As if he wants me to say the wrong thing to give him a reason to kill someone.
Kol and Abbie were always the closest out of the siblings. She was close with all of them, but Kol was always the first to notice if she was having a bad day, always knew how to cheer her up, knew her better than she knew herself, her biggest supporter and also her biggest bully and annoyance.
I like to call Abbie and Kol the Ying-Yang twins because they look so much alike and even have very similar personalities.. but they're polar opposites. If they're around anyone else but each other, you would have no idea they were so much alike. Kol and I are close, but nowhere close to him and Abbie.
Rebekah and I were always closer, even though I met and became friends with Abbie first. When I met the family, Rebekah and I were immediate friends.. I couldn't imagine never having met her. Don't get me wrong, Abbie is still my best friend and practically my soulmate.. I'll forever be grateful for the day she found me in 1308.. but Rebekah and I always had a different bond. It's funny because people who know of the Mikaelson's think I'm the youngest sister, not Abbie.. which we allowed them to think until proven otherwise, which they usually figured out before their death.. not always, but most of the time.
"I honestly don't know where she is, but will you have her call me when she answers you?" I asked, before flashing him a smile hoping to convince him. "You expect me to believe you don't know where she is, after you left with her? I'm not Elijah or Niklaus. I know you know where she is and if I find her in bed with Lucien.. it's you I'll come after." He barked, rolling his eyes and walking towards the front door.
"I'm not her keeper, Kol. She's allowed to do whatever she wants with whoever. You can't keep her in this bubble forever." I called back as he shut the door behind him. I rolled my eyes and turned to walk back towards the study, finding Elijah where I thought he was.
"You don't know where Abigail is?" Elijah questioned, not looking up from his book he's reading. I huffed and sat down on the couch. "No and even if I did, I wouldn't tell y'all. Y'all would drag her back here because she's living her life."
