"Hey Stef?" I walk into the kitchen looking around. He wasn't in bed this morning and now he's not here. What the fuck. I walk out to the back patio, seeing him laying out by the pool, with earbuds in.
I plop down on the lounger beside him and smile sweetly. He peeks through one eye before smiling and looking over at me. "I know that look. It means you're plotting and we're not plotting today. You promised me a pool day, so that's all we're doing." He relaxes back in the seat, closing his eyes again.
"I'm not plotting. I'm just bored." I huffed, putting my chin in my hand. He lets out a breathy laugh and looks back over at me. "You've been complaining about not making enough time to read. Why don't you go get one of your books.." he air quotes books like they really aren't books. "And come join me out here." I poke out my bottom lip, before rolling my eyes and standing up to go back in the house.
I quickly turned back on my heels when I thought of a plan. "First of all, they are books. Good books can still have lots of smut in them." I argue.
"Is that what you call it? Smut? Because I read some and it was just porn you had to read." I rolled my eyes and stomped my foot. "Quit calling it porn!" I try to sound serious instead of wanting to laugh with him.
"Second, when I decide on a book, we can just act out all those spicy scenes later." I give him a huge grin before turning back towards the house. "I knew you were plotting and until you call those books what they are, I'm not playing." He declares, but I ignore him, disappearing into the house.
After picking a book and changing into a bathing suit, I head downstairs to grab us some drinks and snacks. Before I grabbed anything, I checked my phone really quickly, since I hadn't been on it all day.

I'm coming to pick you up. We're taking a trip down to NOLA.Sending her a quick okay back. I know I have a couple of hours before she makes it here. Going back out to Stefan and biting back the smile that threatens to show when I notice Stefan looking at me. "Quit looking at me like that, Stef. We're relaxing." I state, sitting everything down before laying out the lounger. He hums a response, lifting his sunglasses up. "Let me know if you need help with sunscreen." I snort out a laugh, opening up my book to the last page I was on.
"My daylight ring is my sunscreen, but thanks for the concern." His smile grows wider, as he turns to face me. "I should check you for new freckles later. Just to make sure it's really working." I roll my eyes, trying not to laugh. "Considering I'm not on fire right now, I would say it's working. Now will you leave me alone? I'm trying to read." He looks at the book and smiles. "The Sinner. I read that one last week. Just wait for chapter 36." He wiggles his eyebrows, laying back down.
