Abbie
It had been 3 days since the dinner party. Lucien and Avery spent every minute since, begging me to go back to Italy so I could get the happiness I deserve. I didn't want to go back right yet, because I didn't want to leave Elena here defenseless against Klaus. I promised him her blood and I planned to keep up my end of the deal, hoping it would keep her alive.
"Okay, I'm leaving now. I'll be back in a couple of hours." I yelled through the house, before Avery and Lucien were standing before me in a blink of an eye. I rolled my eyes and set my things back down, waiting to hear their objections.
"Come on and get it over with.. I'm supposed to meet them in 20 minutes."
"Why are you still going through with this? We both know Niklaus doesn't deserve to get anything he wants. Especially with what he's done to you." Lucien argues, getting an eye roll out of me. "I'm doing this to protect Elena. If I leave now, going back on my deal to get Klaus his blood, he'll kill everyone in this town till he has her." I look over to Avery, waiting for her argument.
"You leave this house.. I'll kick your ass." She deadpanned, making me laugh. "I'm a 1000 year old tribrid, I could kill you with a blink of an eye." She stands up straighter, crossing her arms over her chest. "Yeah? Well you wouldn't kill either one of us." She raises an eyebrow and I do the same, leaning towards them, looking at them both.
"Which one wants to go first?" I held my serious expression, knowing damn well I wouldn't, but I needed them to believe I would. Avery burst out laughing, making me roll my eyes. Of course she would call my bluff. "Fuck off, Aves. I'll be back soon and I promise to keep y'all updated." I waved them off, walking out of the house. They both tried to follow me, but hit the boundary spell I put up about 5 minutes before I left.
"Drop this boundary spell and fight fair, Abigail."
Oooo Abigail. Avery only called me that, when she was really pissed. Good thing she's trapped.
"Abbie, just come back in the house and let's talk about this."
Ah, my sweet, loving, level headed boyfriend. Definitely the complete opposite of Avery. She's going to rip him apart while I'm gone.
I arrived at the grill about 20 minutes later, late due to my bodyguards who were trapped in my house for the next 30 minutes at least. The hostess escorted me up the back steps, leading up to the rooftop dining area, pointing out the table where Damon, Elena and Stefan sat, leaving Elena in between them, but across from me.
"Hey guys! Thanks for meeting me. Sorry I'm late." I exhaled, taking my seat and opening my menu. Stefan and Elena both looked up at me, flashing me a smile, Damon looked up at me, flashing me a soft sweet smile before sliding my chair out for me. "Hey, it's fine. We were just about to order but we can wait." Elena smiled, as I nodded, looking over my menu. "So what did you want to talk about?" Stefan asked, templing his hands under his chin.
"First I wanted to apologize again for any suffering my family has brought you. Everything my family has done has been without my knowledge and now I'm left to figure out how to clean up their mess, once again. If there's anything I can do for any of you, please don't hesitate to call me." The 3 of them nod, allowing me to continue. I left out a soft breath, sitting up straighter in the chair.
"Which is also why I hate to ask this of any of you, especially you, Elena. I'm sure you heard about the disaster of the dinner party and found out the barrier protecting you is linked to Klaus' life. I would've much rather we have linked it to my own, but he would've daggered me the second I refused to drop the spell. So linking you to Klaus' life, knowing he wouldn't kill himself was a no brainer." I shrugged, taking a sip of water before continuing.
"While the spell is strong and would take a normal witch at least 3 months to break, it will only deter Klaus for so long before he comes up with another plan to get what he wants. With that being said, I would like to know if our deal still stands? I want you to be able to have a semi-normal life, without Klaus stalking you from the shadows. I hate to ask this, because none of you owe us anything, but I can't ignore the fact that my brother is nothing but persistent." I lean back in my chair, giving the time they need to think about it, as the waiter takes our order.
"So even after last night, Klaus still wins?" Damon asked. "I hate it as much as y'all do. He doesn't deserve to have what he wants.. but I think we all know Klaus won't stop. I may be kneeling before the devil, but I'm holding all the power." I shrug as he nodded. "But I'm stuck being linked to Klaus?" I nod and let out a sigh. "I don't feel comfortable dropping the spell until he's gone. But I promise the second we're out of town, I'll drop it." She nods but I see Damon's face change into a scowl.
"We? Like you'll go with them?" I press my lips into a thin line and nod reluctantly. "The only way I can know Elena is safe is staying with him and making sure he isn't actively trying to find another way to get her blood." Elena and Stefan look at me with a sympathetic look but Damon almost looks mad. "So you save Elena and protect her from your psychotic brother and in return, you give yourself over to him?" I shrug, swallowing my fate that he made clear to me.
"Nobody ever deserves to die for my family's gain.. small price to pay for someone's life." I shrug, before continuing. "Plus, I've been away for awhile now, they were bound to drag me home anytime now. Carrying the name Mikaelson is a curse, but it's forever.. no matter the circumstances." 'Always and Forever' the 1000 year old mantra on repeat in my head, giving me the tiniest sliver of comfort and acceptance of my fate.
