Avery

2 months.

That's exactly how long I lasted after Elijah's unexpected but much needed visit. What he said, the raw emotions from both of us and his stupid bloody check! I couldn't take it anymore. I'm not sure if I wanted answers or what, but next thing I knew, I was packing my bags and loading my car. I just had one last thing to handle first.

"If I come back and the house is trashed or burned down," I glare at JJ, watching him try to hold back a laugh. "I will kill every single one of you in order of who I think was most responsible for it." The 5 of them nod, trying to feign innocence and contain their excitement.

I know exactly what I'm doing right now. I'm giving the 5 of them a safe place to come to. I've gotten to know each of them very well, so I know they'll all enjoy the escape and whatever luxuries the house has to offer. What I'm not too sure of, is leaving 5 teenagers unsupervised and free reign over my house, knowing they'll throw a party the second my back tires leave the driveway.

I also don't know what I'm walking into down in New Orleans. For all I know, I could be walking to my death and the last thing I wanted was for them to find out about my death by someone kicking them out the house.

So that's how I figured out what to do with Elijah's money. Now, I know a vampire drawing up a will is a bit redundant, but I have one now. Each of them now have a trust fund set up in their name, with $400,000 and the house goes to each of them.

I know I've only been here for 8 months, but I care for them. If something was to happen to me, I wanted to make sure they were going to be okay. Sue me.

There's other details I had to specify and I realized how morbid all this was, but I'm trying to be realistic. I'm literally going down to New Orleans to light a fire under Klaus' ass. If not for my own personal enjoyment, for Abbie. She deserves to have her family's support and happiness. If I have to be the one to beat it into him.. Well, then, I guess I'll be the one to get my hand dirty.

I also know this can get me killed, so I made preparations. The only thing I can't prepare for, is the damage I know they cause. No matter how much I deny it, they're just like the Mikaelson's. And when the Mikaelson's argued, the house was always trashed.

Which brings me back to my point. "You each have your own set of keys. The pool guy comes by every 2 weeks and the lawn and grocery delivery service every week." I hand over my spare car keys to Pope. JJ already has the spare key somehow. "Don't wreck it." I turn to John B. "Don't you dare gut a fish in my house." He smiles, as I turn to Sarah.

"Don't steal all my clothes." She bites her lip, but the excitement burns bright in her eyes. God help me. I look at JJ. "Don't burn down the house and for the love of God, the fire pit is electric. Do not add gas to it." He rolls his eyes, waving me off. I turn to Kie. "Don't let them do anything I just said. You're officially in charge." All their heads snap to us, as her smile widens.

"Why is she in charge?!" Pope shouts.

"No fair! I'm responsible." Sarah pouts.

"Well, we're screwed." John B huffs.

"And I thought we were going to have fun." JJ whines, getting a sideways glare from Kie. "Exactly why you're in charge." I smile, shaking my head at the others as I grab my bags and keys. "Behave. Stay safe and enjoy the freedom. I'll be back before you know it." They all walk me to the door, standing out onto the porch, waving me off.

Have you ever seen the movies where the parents leave for a trip, and the kids are very well-behaved as you leave? Waving you off, watching as you leave, but the second the tail lights are out of frame, teens pour from all around, music blaring and alcohol everywhere? This is exactly how that feels.
