Chapter 21: TJ vs Monsoon

"What's the hold up?" Chelsea groaned.

"This better be worth the wait." Najenda said.

"It sure does make you wonder what's taking so long." TJ said.

"It'll be great to see how much stronger you've gotten since I've been gone." Tatsumi smiled as he sat down on the floor. "I bet your training regimen is tough."

"It sure was, babe." Mine chuckled as she sat on Tatsumi's lap. "Everyone else took part in TJ's training to help him out and myself and Esdeath helped as well."

"Yeah, we weren't going to let this time of peace make him get lazy." Lubbock said.

"Hey Tatsumi, did you know that TJ has surpassed most of us?" Chelsea said.

"Really? Who?" Tatsumi said.

"Well, he already surpassed me seven years ago." Najenda chuckled. "During the fight with Vain."

"He passed me up a while ago too." Lubbock said.

"I got to admit it, but TJ is stronger than me as well." Chelsea said. "Bulat and Susanoo got dwarfed by TJ too."

"Same here." Sheele said as she raised her hand.

"It's crazy to think about because we have been training since you've been gone too." Mine said. "But TJ's potential and latent abilities are amazing, to the point where it's unbelievable."

"But as it stands, you, me, Mine, Leone and Esdeath are still out of TJ's reach." Akame said.

"Yeah, for now." Lubbock said. "He'll pass you guys in due time."

"Then there's Mya we have to worry about as well." Chelsea said. "These Tuffle hybrids are walking cheat codes."

"Wow, the future generation is looking promising." Tatsumi smiled. "Man, I can't wait for the future and to see how it turns out. It'll be awesome."

"Well, our future generation consists of your children." Chelsea chuckled.

"Yeah, that is true." Tatsumi smiled.

"TJ's power sure is promising." Esdeath said. "He's come a long way from when he was a child."

"So, that explains why they're so unbothered by this."  Lex thought. "In time of crisis, these assassins can draw out insane amounts of power at a moment's notice. Their gifts push the limits of believability. To think that I could be staggered by beings from the lower realm."

The door then opened and stepping out was Monsoon, with a smirk on his face.

"It can't be!" Lex said. "This makes no sense. Why not save Monsoon for the final stage?"

"The fact that you defeated Dormon and made it to the third stage is unexpected to say the least." Monsoon said. "One might even call it miraculous. I've come here to halt your Cinderella story."

"Your master must be feeling really desperate to send you out so early." Esdeath chuckled. "Did we make the old man that nervous? Pathetic."

"Your taunting is falling on deaf ears." Monsoon smirked. "Stop stalling for time. Now, all of you, come at me."

"I don't think so." TJ said. "I'm fighting you one on one."

"Excuse me?" Monsoon said.

"You heard me." TJ said. "I'm not fighting in this closet either. Tell your boss to transport us somewhere else like he did with dad and auntie Akame."

"You dare mock the great Monsoon!?" Monsoon said.

"One moment." Drakeo said. "Don't forget that Lars' revival is delicate business. We can't have you compromising the ship. We'll take your fight elsewhere."

"Yes sir, as you command." Monsoon said. 

"Choose." Drakeo said.

"He can have the home advantage." Monsoon said. "Put us somewhere like earth."

"Nice confidence." Drakeo said as moved the battle to a new location.

"Alright boy, this place to your liking?" Monsoon said.

"Yeah." TJ smirked as he took at fighting stance.

"Stay sharp, son." Tatsumi said.

"You got this, sweetie." Mine said.

With Mya, the Jaegers, and Talia:

"And that's what's been going on." Talia said. "That's where everyone's gone."

"Wizards, huh?" Wave said. "You sure?"

"It was crazy when I first heard it, trust me." Talia said.

"That's where Night Raid's been this whole time..." Bols said. "Fighting some evil space wizard that's going to hatch a monster?"

"Hey, where's Mya?" Run asked.

"I think she slipped away." Kurome said.

"Ah damn it!" Wave said. "What is up with the curiosity of children nowadays?"

"Yeah, she must've snuck off as soon as Talia broke the news." Run said.

"We got to find her!" Wave said.

"Should we be worried though?" Kurome said. "Mya isn't some naive kid."

"Yeah, she's Tatsumi and Mine's daughter, she'll be alright." Seryu said.

"She may be their kid but she's still a little girl." Wave said. "We have to find her now!"

At Drakeo's Ship:

TJ initiated the first attack, but Monsoon countered with lighting quick Fissure Slashes that TJ dodged.

TJ dove into the water and fired an energy beam form underneath Monsoon blocked it but was ambushed by a sneak attack by TJ and kicked into a rock side.

Monsoon emerged from the rubble and sent the rocks at TJ using telekinesis, but TJ managed to destroy them all by transforming into Incursio.

"Alright son, time to show this guy what you're really made of." Tatsumi said.

TJ in a split second, punched Monsoon in the stomach, punched him again, and kicked him to the ground.

TJ unleashed a flurry of energy beams at Monsoon, but Monsoon managed to dodge them and tried to sneak behind TJ but was blocked and the two began trading blows until reaching a stale mate.

"Stop holding back!" TJ said.

"As you wish." Monsoon smiled.

Monsoon began raising his power to TJ's request.

TJ and Monsoon began trading blows until Monsoon was kicked into a rock and then pursued by TJ. 

TJ dodged multiple Flame Cannons by Monsoon and Monsoon used afterimages to fake out TJ.

Monsoon fired an energy beam at TJ which he blocked; after the smoke cleared, TJ was gone, then three random energy beams fired at Monsoon. 

Monsoon blocked all three of them and fired one of his own at where he thought TJ would appear only to be one step behind.

Monsoon fired his blast at a fourth decoy energy beam fired by TJ earlier and TJ appeared on rock in front of Monsoon.

"Slippery child." Monsoon grunted.

"There you go, kid." Lubbock said. "Always one step ahead."

"That's my boy." Tatsumi smiled.

"Keep it up, honey!" Mine cheered.

"Keep in mind, we're still dealing with the King of the Demon Realm." Lex said. "Yoru and Dormon were flies compared to him."

"Yet TJ is doing just fine." Chelsea said.

"No, he's more than fine." Najenda said. "He's only warming up."

"Monsoon can't win this fight."  Esdeath thought. "TJ is way more than what he bargained for."
