Tarini was engrossed in her work, typing away on her laptop, when a sudden knock on the door broke the silence. "Come in," she mutters, not looking up from her screen.
A few seconds pass before she feels the bed dip behind her, and she was enveloped in a tight hug.
"Diii, I know you missed me soo much!" Jivika exclaims with excitement, as she wraps her arms around Tarini.
Tarini feigns annoyance, gently prying herself out of the hug. "You scared me. Is this how you meet your sister?"
Jivika chuckles in response, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Why? Oh, I understand, only your husband is allowed to greet you like this, right naah?" she asks, feigning curiosity.
"Come, sit down, then talk." Avoiding the teasing, Tarini pulls her hand, and they settle beside each other.
Next, Tarini bombards her with questions. "Tell me, how's everyone at home? How's Nani's health now? How's work going?"
"Easy, Di, everyone's fine, including Dadi. She misses you every day, though. Work is going well, too," Jivika answers, smiling at her palpable concern.
"You tell me, why don't you visit us? Or let me guess, you can't stay away from Aviraj Bhaiya, even for a few days. O my god, so cute," she continues, getting back to her dramatic self.
"I thought you were here to meet me," Tarini says, reopening her laptop.
"Of course, I am. If not for you, I wouldn't even prefer to walk in front of this mansion," Jivika replies, making a face, and closes Tarini's laptop again. "Leave this aside. There's nothing to get jealous of your husband's mention."
"Husband?" Tarini utters, a humorless chuckle escaping her mouth. "Please, I don't feel jealous of anyone or anything."
Jivika's expression transforms, sensing a change in her demeanor. Her tone remains neutral, yet betraying a hint of dilemma. "Actually, I went for shopping today, and there I saw Aviraj bhaiya in the same place, with a girl. I was here to tell you that only but–"
