Aayansh's eyes narrow at Adhvik, their former classmate from school and the same fellow whom they had briefly encountered in the reunion party as well.

"Why are you giving that kind of reaction like I'm the one who's uninvited?" Adhvik approaches their table with a confident stride, his gaze flicking between Aayansh and Jivika before settling on the latter. "Now don't say that you had no idea that I was supposed to be here."

Jivika looks at Aayansh, equally clueless, and she clears, "I was told about the table under Mr. Raheja's name." That was it. She hadn't thought to inquire further, assuming it wasn't necessary.

"But I was aware that it was you since I met your family and they showed me your pictures. In fact, I had anticipated so much about this evening expect for your boyfriend's presence," Adhvik beats Aayansh to reply, his sharp tone laced with disappointment.

"You have a misunderstanding. Aayansh is not my–" Jivika attempts to clarify after composing herself, but before she could complete, Aayansh intervenes.

"There's no point in lying." He shifts closer to her, encircling his arm around her shoulder and announcing in a obvious manner, "She is taken."

It takes a moment for Jivika to grasp his impulsive response, her eyes widening in astonishment.

"Have you lost it? What are you even saying?" she objects through her gritted teeth, but Aayansh was unfazed.

"You don't want to be with him," he speaks, being assertive, and Jivika removes his grip from her arm, glaring at him.

"You don't have to decide that." Her voice was low yet declarative, in spite of her protests having no impact on him.

"If I was in your place, I would have left by now," Aayansh suggests to Adhvik, who appears to concentrate on their exchange.

"I'm not you, unfortunately. But I really wish to know what's so special about her that has kept you tied to her for years," Adhvik contends in a provoking tone, his intention clear. "Besides, I think she wants me to stay, and that makes me wonder if the reason for that is her family or her interest in testing other option."

Jivika's mind was already in a haze due to Aayansh's behavior. She couldn't understand his motivations, and Adhvik's remarks only adds to her unease. Yet, she keeps quiet for family's sake, choosing to deal with him in her way after getting hold of the situation.

As the tension between three of them builds up, the nearby onlookers attention begin to turn to them. The murmurs and keen glances makes her discomfort even more pronounced.

"You should leave," she tells Aayansh, creating a small gap between them, and unintentionally her movement shifts her next to Adhvik.

"Are you serious? You should tell that to this bastard," Aayansh responds rapidly in disbelief, his fury simmering below the surface.
