Abhyudit was sitting beside Devanshi's bed, his hand holding hers to offer what little comfort he could. Aayansh was standing a few feet away on the other side, listening to their conversation.

They had been just reunited, and while the delight of seeing her again was evident, there were still unspoken emotions lingering in the air.

Aayansh's eyes were fixed intently on his sister's face, taking in the changes that time had brought. As he watches her, he couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia.

She looked so different from the nine-year-old girl he remembered, the one who would love her dolls but also fight for his toys, borrow his belongings without permission, and cry over the smallest issues.

The memories of their childhood flood his mind — the countless times she would complain to their parents about him, the birthday celebrations where she would steal the spotlight. Yet, he had cried every year on his birthday after she was gone.

Despite the sibling rivalry, he had grown to love and cherish her presence in his life. He recalled being exasperated by her antics, yet he had missed her dearly throughout the years of her absence.

Aayansh's daze ends with Abhyudit's voice. "I'm sorry, Aashi. The accident you got into was because of me. It was my car you collided with."

Devanshi stares at Abhyudit, perplexed, as if something had clicked her mind. "It was my fault, bhaiya. I was running without noticing anything. You shouldn't feel guilty about it."

"So, you were actually eager to head somewhere or is it your common practice to run like maniacs and cause accidents?" Aayansh steps forward, sounding curious, only to earn a glare from Abhyudit at his unwanted intervention.

"Who did you just call a maniac?" Devanshi repeats with a scowl, unimpressed by his audacity.

"The same person who was running with closed eyes in a packed parking area," Aayansh replies, unrepentant.

"Ansh," Abhyudit calls out in a warning, but at the same time, the door of the room swings opens, diverting their attention.

Vedika walks in, and her eyes land on her children, taking in the sight before her. Seeing them together after all these year, her heart is filled to the brim with a mix of elation and bittersweetness. A surge of contentment courses through her, despite the tense atmosphere.

"Why did you all go silent?" she asks, her voice tinged with intrigue and concern.

"Aayansh was saying something," Devanshi was quick to respond, making Aayansh scoff. But then he shakes his head, finding his mother looking at him. His avoidance stings, however, Vedika's expression falters, as Devanshi asks her next question.

"Isn't Aviraj bhaiya coming to meet me?" Devanshi's gaze flicks between Abhyudit and Aayansh, who exchange a brief, uncertain glance.

"I don't know. We didn't get a chance to talk today," Abhyudit replies, breaking the stillness, his tone careful to not crush her hopes entirely.
