Sahar walked behind Khadija and Mahrukh as they shopped for themselves for the upcoming engagement party. Khadija was getting engaged coming Thursday and they called her to ask if she would accompany them for shopping. She said yes, of course. She would love to help out with the arrangements in any way she can. She was truly happy for the girl.

"I think this looks nice enough. What'd you say?" Mahrukh directed the last part to her and she nodded her head.

"It's beautiful. This colour will look so pretty on you Khadija."

Sahar acknowledged the girl standing beside her causing a smile to erupt over her features. Mahrukh looked at the tag and suddenly, her face dulled a bit.

"It's way too costly." She muttered to herself, but Sahar picked up on it. Mahrukh smiled forcibly and then said to her daughter

"Let's see other dresses first."

The mother and daughter duo walked away leaving her standing behind by the shop. Sahar glanced at the tag and indeed it was very costly. Her hand automatically went to her purse where a card sat safely tucked inside. Ahad has given his card to her if she wanted to shop for herself. She denied a hundred times, but the man was stubborn and she had to agree to his terms. She already made up her mind that she won't use it, but she cut some slack and purchased the dress. She joined her cousin and Chachi and heard them talking to each other

"That dress was perfect Mama. Nothing meets its glam."

Khadija's voice was somber and carried a hint of sadness. Sahar finally made her presence known and Mahrukh's eyes took in the shopping bag in her hand.

"You've gotten yourself something?"

Sahar shook her head and forwarded the bag to Khadija.

"Consider it a gift."

Khadija glanced inside and gasped.

"It's that dress."

Mahrukh too eyed the bag and turned to look at Sahar.

"You didn't have to. We would have bought something else."

Her tone was a little bit on a harsher side.  Sahar knew what she must be thinking that she was pitying them, which was of course not the reason.

"I wanted her to wear that dress. She'll look beautiful in that pretty outfit."

Mahrukh didn't say anything, but Khadija spoke up

"Thank you so much." There was a tender notch in her cousin's voice that Sahar wasn't used to hear often.

"Let's get going, okay."
