It's been one month ever since the CEO vote was held. Sawera had permanently retired and now resided in her home. After two decades of working non stop, she was very much welcoming the feel of staying at home and doing about nothing except for regular house chores. Which of course, she didn't do much because she had servants and she was old that it would tire her out, but she did started taking walks and spending time in the self made garden which Jameel took care off of when she was working.

Ahad on the other hand was busy as he ever could be. New to the position, he had some major responsibilities. Most major of them was to restore the faith and trust of the committee members and people of country. He had gained appreciation during CEO vote, but now was his real examination. They would be keeping an eagle eye on his moves and approach. There was no guarantee that he wouldn't be removed from the position. If the committee members found him lacking, of course, his position will be taken over by some other respective candidate. He didn't want to fail. Not when he came this far. So, he was working days and nights. Doing long days at work and spending entire night coped in his study. He was losing weight. He was sleep deprived, but he was working with maximum potential of his own.

He was trying to be the best version of the CEO he could be. He couldn't necessarily disappoint the people that believed in him. How could he? That would be both shameful and disappointing.

It was yet another day when he was leaving early. It didn't even struck eight and he was dressed in a formal black suit. The pen gifted by Sawera remained in his pocket as he grabbed his coat. Glancing at the bed, he saw it all made up. Of course, his schedule affected Sahar's too. He knew she was fired from the hospital. She told him two days later after coming back home. He was furious to be honest, but for her sake, he acted calmer than he felt. But, the next day, he withdrew the company's donation to the hospital. There were many other cases like that one with Sahar and it was about time the hospital learned it's lesson.

His eyes turned to the door as it opened and strolled in his wife. Dressed in a vibrant dark purple suit, she was so stunning he couldn't ever be not surprised by her. Again, there was a rush in his bones. His blood pumped hotter and his hands itched to touch her. But, he also has been noticing how quiet she had grown since the past month. He figured it must be because of his lack of time for her. She's been putting up with his messy schedule for a month now and she's been very supportive since none of this even began, so of course, she would require a little break. Figuring, he could take out some time for her today, he quickly message his P.A to clear his schedule for the entire evening. There were three meetings piled up, but they could easily be rescheduled again. He saw her moving from one corner to another and finally coming before him.

She held his documents in her hand and he grabbed those, but didn't let go of her hand. When she tried twice and failed to retreat, she met his eyes. Question running in them so clearly.

"Be ready by six. We're going out."

Nodding her head, she asked

"Is it some formal event?" He shook his head and sprayed his perfume

"Just us. You and me."

She smiled tenderly. Although, the smile was real, but the far away look in her eyes was anything but. He grew concerned. She's been acting strange.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

He slowly pulled her close until no air could pass between them. Tilting her chin up, he repeated his question, more softly this time.

"What's wrong, Wildcat? You've been very worried lately."

Her saw her gulp and annoyance swirled in his eyes when a mask covered her features. A facade to show that she was all right when she was clearly anything but.
