The hustle and bustle of the hallway tussle was no match for Mr. Frussle as he nuzzled his way through the hustling crowd.

The upper grades were careful not to bump into him or they would be handed a one-way ticket to detention; however, this common knowledge wasn't shared with the redhead girl who was passing through with her face on her phone.

"Woah! Watch it!" Mr. Fussle called out as they both collided. Skylor looked at him angrily.

"What do you mean watch it? You bumped into me!" Mr. Fussle's frown deepened.

"If your brain weren't so buried in your phone you would learn to pay attention to where you were going," Mr. Frussle retorted. Skylor snared angrily, ready to curse out the dude, but was stopped by a tall brown-haired boy who pulled her away from the teacher's grasp.

"Are you trying to get in trouble?" Kai said, watching the teacher storm away. Skylor pushed Kai's hand off of her arm.

"Uh no? Maybe if he didn't have a stick shoved so up his butt he would have owned up to his mistake," Skylor huffed before looking the boy in front of her up and down. "Who are you supposed to be?"

"Kai. Kai Smith. Major playboy in the school. By now you should have fallen for me. Have you?" Kai flirted. Skylor scrunched her face in disgust.

"Uh. No. Maybe your 'playboy' charm doesn't work on me. Bye now!" Skylor said before rushing away to her locker to grab her lunch.

Kai stood there dumbfounded and love-struck. She wasn't interested, but Kai took this as a challenge. She was one of the hard-to-get ones, making the rewards of winning her heart much more valuable.

"Not that face again. Are you planning on flirting with another girl to death?" Jay asked Kai, waking him up from his trance. Kai smirked.

"You know me too well," Kai said, turning in the direction of the lunchroom. Jay followed by his side.

"Ugh, you never commit to one relationship will you?" Jay asked, dodging the sprinting freshman.

"Nope," Kai said, scheming to win Skylor's heart. "I'm too good-looking to stay with one chick,"

"That's your ego talking. But when you're thirty, and your good-looking days end, don't come crying to me begging for advice to commit to a relationship because you realize you only stick with looks, because I will turn you down and say I told you so," Jay retorted.

"That was oddly specific," Kai asked, walking into the large commotion of the lunch room. "Is that some plot to a rom-com or something?"

"No," Jay said sheepishly. "Yeah.."

"I could tell. Where is the rest of the group?" Kai asked, searching around the crowded room. Jay pointed over to a table near the back.

"There they are." The two walked over and were greeted by an argument between Cole and Nya.

"I'm just saying Kailor would be a totally better ship name than Skai!" Cole said, twirling his fork into his pasta.

"No Kai's name literally takes up the entire thing, and besides if the ship were to happen it would be because Kai falls for Skylor not the other way around." Nya retorted, her hands holding onto her beef burrito.

"Really? Someone making Kai fall in love with them would be a miracle. He's the player, not the pawn." Cole replied, shrugging. Nya huffed in annoyance.

"What are you guys arguing about," Jay said sitting next to his girlfriend.

"First, we argued about how long it would take Kai to make Skylor fall in love with him. Cole said 3 weeks, I said 3 months. Then we argued about the ship's name once they got together." Nya explained.
