Chapter 35

"You sure you want to do this?" Kai asked, after being challenged by the sixth person this night. Kai was already heavily drunk from the previous five rounds of beer pong, but wasn't ready to back down from a challenge.

"Totally," Brad said, taking his position on the opposite side of the table. Kai followed, going on his side as someone set up the cups.

The game began with a coin flip. Kai called heads and was granted the first move. He bounced the ping pong ball straight for the first cup and got it in, he took a swig before going again. He had one cup left when Brad forfeited, not wanting to lose to Kai, even though he already did.

"Easy win. Anyone else want to challenge me?" Kai asked, proudly, his voice slurred from all the drinking. He was too high in his head to know when to stop drinking. Even as this drunk, Kai hadn't lost his hand-eye coordination.

"I'll have a go. Someone needs to knock you from that high horse." A new voice appeared from the crowd. Kai placed down his cup to look where the voice had came from. The crowd sort of split allowing a girl to step out and walk towards the table. It was Skylor.

"Skylor?" Kai asked, surprised by his new challenger.

"What? You don't think a girl can beat you?" Skylor asked, crossing her arms. Kai laughed.

"I don't think anyone can beat me," Kai scoffed. Skylor rolled her eyes, motioning for someone to reset the cups.

"Uh we ran out of beer?" Clancee said, pointing to the stack of empty beer bottles.

"Then use vodka." Skylor suggested.

"I don't drink vodka." Kai admitted, not wanting to try the new type of alcohol.

"What? You too scared that you can't handle it?" Skylor mocks. Kai shook his head.

"Nope. Get the vodka." Kai ordered, staring Skylor down. This was a change in Skylor's personality. He wasn't used to such taunting, especially not from the non-talking red head. Something in the past few weeks might have awakened something in her. Skylor on the other hand was seeing a new Kai, a rather competitive one. Skylor never backed down from a challenge either, and wasn't ready to lose against a guy who thought he was the best.

The vodka was brought by Ghoultar and only one bottle. "My parent's got a pack of 12 from Russia, and I'm only giving you guys one so don't waste it." He said, before disappearing into another room.

Clancee set up the six cup on each side and filled the cups up to the bottom red line since that's how much vodka a person could drink at one time. Kai would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous. It took him a bit to get adjusted to beer, and now he was going for something even stronger. His grandfather had died from liver failure from drinking too much, and Kai had some alcoholic genes passed down from his grandfather.

Skylor on the other hand was excited to try this vodka, having being ⅛ russia herself, she normally drank vodka when she went to parties. Of course her parents didn't know, or else she wouldn't have the liberty of drinking ever so often. Sure she was only sixteen, but the legal ag was 18 and that was only a year and a few months away for Skylor

Clancee got ready to flip the coin but Kai stopped him. "Ladies first," He smirked. Skylor paid no attention to his 'kind' gesture since this gave her an even higher advantage. She bounced the ping pong ball against the table, landing it into the back left. She took a swig at the drink, chugging it until it was finished. It burned the back of her throat and the sudden intake burned her throat. Luckily, she was smart enough to eat before she played of else she would feel her stomach burning up.

After two more landed shots, Skylor missed her fourth because of the blurriness in her eyes.

"Now it's the champion's turn," Kai said, rubbing his palms together. He picked the ping pong ball and rubbed it dry against a napkin. His movements were sluggish and slow, due to the large amount of shots he took prior to the game. He shook his head, getting rid of the light headedness he felt. He wasn't exactly sure he wanted to compete in this game due to the way he was already felt.

Kai made his first shot in the front cup. He grinned and grabbed the cup ready to take a swig but the strong sent caught him off guard. He contains his urge to gag and painfully chugged the entire cup. The liquid burned his throat and stomach as it piled up with the rest of the drinks. Teh strangest thing about the vodka was the taste. It was strong and had alcohol but also a flavor. It tasted tangy and a bit sour, just like pine apple.

Kai spat at whatever he had in his moth back into the cup before coughing hysterically. Skylor smirked at Kai's misfortune. "What? You can't handle some vodka?"

"Nope." Kai said coughing. He gabbed his throat as he felt it closing. "I'm allergic to pineapple."

Skylor's eyes widened as she looked at the bottle that cleary said 'pineapple' vodka on the label. Maybe Kai's blurry eyes sight didn't realize it.

"Oh my god, are you okay?" Skylor said, coming over to Kai's side as he sat on the floor, struggling to breathe.

"Do I look okay?" Kai snapped angrily, trying to take deep breathes to stop the burning sensation in his lungs.

"Jeez im only trying to help," Skylor said, backing off.

"Go get-" Kai stopped, his coughing getting worse. "Nya."

"Okay" Skylor got up and went to go look for Nya, leaving a not-okay Kai on the floor.
