"What did she want this time?" Nya asked when Zane and Pixal were seated comfortably in the library.
"She wanted to express sadness for the misfortune of Cole's mother," Zane explained. He gained no feedback, yet many confused faces and eyebrow raises.
"She wanted to say sorry about Cole's mother," Pixel translated, the group nodded collectively finally understanding Zane.
"Who would of told her that? We didn't leak a thing," Jay asked, confused on how the 'secret' slipped.
"It was probably my dad who told her," Cole muttered, gaining the attention of the others. He looked up from his phone to find them all staring at him. "They still speak often, which is weird since we broke up a while back."
"Well, if Vania knows then-" Lloyd was interrupted by the librarian that somehow appeared from nowhered.
"Oh, Cole, I heard about your mother, I send my deepest condolences to you and your family," She spoke. Cole mumbled a quick thanks before the librarian strode away, taking small glances back at Cole.
"Then the entire school knows," Lloyd finished, stabbing his fork into his mac and cheese.
But Cole didn't exactly hear him, he was still focused on the fact that everyone had been apologizing to him and sendin condolences even though his mother was still alive and had a chance at survival. They were acting as if he was marked for death the second she was diagnosed. Yes, Cancer was a killer, but so was radiation and chemothearpy.
