"With deep thought and many considerations, I have decided that this year's musical play would be..." Mr. Dramarama (Stevens) announced, signaling Bradley to make some drum roll, "Aladin!"
Cheers could be heard all around the room.
"Now please, take this sheet and pass it around, these are the signup sheets, select a character you want to tryout for and the day you want to try out," Mr. Dramarama handed out three clip boards to three different sides of the room.
Once the clipboard reached Kai, he quickly scanned the paper to see who he was up against fr the lead role Aladin. There was Paleman, not the best actor, Griffn Turner, a pretty good singer, Karloff, not the best line reader or singer, and a bunch of kids Kai has never heard of. After he signed his name and character, he was about to hand the clipboard to the man behind him but a familiar name caught his eye. Skylor. Apparently, she was trying out for the maid that worked for Jasmine. Not the best part but she did appear a lot and hand small parts in some songs.
It would be nice to hang out with Shylor during meetings and rehearsals, and maybe just maybe, Kai could find it in him to actually speak to her rather than stare awkwardly.
"Thank you, thank you, I'll see some of you here next week for rehearsals!" Mr. Dramarama said, shooing the kids out of the classroom once they all finished signing up.
Kai stopped by Nya's locker, waiting for her to show up so he could drive them both home. He waited for about five minutes before he saw her with the largest grin on her face.
"Guess who's now the swim team captain!" She exclaimed, grabbing her bag from her locker before shutting the door.
"Let me guess, Nyad?" Kai joked, earning a playful swat from Nya.
"She was supposed to be, but she cheated and I caught her by video," Nya said, doing a little happy dance once they reached Kai's car.
"Oof, too bad for her." kai admitted, unlocking the door and throwing his bag into the back.
"Really good for me though," Nya said, buckling up. "I'm hungry. Let's go to McNinja (ninjago McDonald's)."
"We've got food at home," Kai answered, pulling out of the school parking lot.
"Yeah, but we should totally celebrate this. Please..." Nya said, pulling out the puppy dog eyes.
"I'm focusing on driving so I won't get distracted by you're face." Kai replied, pulling onto Ranchester Road.
"I'll do the dishes for the next week." Nya offered. Kai perked up in interest.
"Add a week full of my laundry and you've got yourself a deal," Kai bargained. Nya was silent for a few moment contemplating her decision.
"Deal," She replied, shaking her brother's free hand. "You're paying by the way."
"I never agreed to that!"
