"Point your feet, you may not be wearing the shoes at the moment but you must be en ponite at all times!" Madame Baile screeched, tapping her wooden stick against Vania's flat foot.
Seliel was already pointing her feet. It was instilled in her since her first dane class at three years old with her mom. Screaming at a toddler to point her toes over and ver again really ingrains it in her brain.
Seliel wasn't exactly paying attention to what the instructor was saying. She already knew everying Madame was saying. Instead, her brain was somewhere else. Her Heart. The date with Cole went great, except the abrupt ending when Cole had to drive her home due to a family emergency. She didn't mind of course, but made sure to leave that detail out when talking to her best friend Tati about her date.
Cole didn't tell her the specifics about what happened, but she overheard some of his friends talking during lunch about his mom having cancer. Of course that cancelled out any negative feelings Seliel had about the abruptly ended date. She never experienced cancer first hand, but one of her friends, Asha, from Nom's dad had it. He passed away a couple years back and that completly destroyed Asha. Seliel was always there to comfort her, but Asha's family moved due to the pain of the loss of her father.
"Seliel, your arabesque is wonderful! Everyone come look at this," Madame's voice rang Seliel out of her thoughts. Before she knew it, all the kids in her class were standing around her in a circle.
"Her body is in total sync, look at the way her leg is perfectly straight," Madame, said pointing to Seliel's straightened leg. She enjoyed the praise, but was havig difficulty holding up this pose for too long. She wanted nothing more than to continue the class with absolutely no one paying attention to her.
"Madame can you go over the dance moves again, I'm having dificiulty remembering them," Murtessa asked. Madam shook her head before dismissing the group and going to the front of the class room.
"Thank you, I don't know how much longer I could hold that pose up," Seliel said to Murtessa, balancing herself on both of her feet.
"No problem. She tried doing that to me during my pirouettes. Too bad no one was there to distract her. I ended up puking on the floor from my dizziness," Murtessa cringed at the memory. Seliel sucked in air sympathetically.
"I'm Murtessa," Murtessa introduced, holding out a hand for Seliel to shake.
"I'm Seliel," Seliel replied, finishing the hand shake.
