"Welcome team, to the first debate club meeting of the school year." Lloyd said, dropping a binder on his desk as he stood in the front of the room. The other six members cheered in delight.
"This year we will be competing in six debates plus the national championship." Lloyd said. "Especially since we lost against the Jamanikai debate team last year."
"The judges were all from Jamanikai and pretty biased! We should have won." Nya complained, earning nodded and sounds of agreement from her friends.
"Well, our first debate is in two weeks, so we have a decent amount of time to prepare." Lloyd said. "To qualify for nationals we need to win at least four of our debates, but we should still aim for all six."
Zane raised his hand. "Do you know which team we are up against first?"
Lloyd scrolled through his phone before answering. "The Stikks kids from WaterFloat High."
A soft chuckle came from Nya. "Easy, last time they didn't even show up."
"Yeah? Because there driver got into an accident?" Kai added. Cole shoo his head.
"No way I heard there chaperone was arrested?" Cole corrected.
"Well either way, we won by default. Moving on." Lloyd stopped the argument. "First thing we need..."
The meeting took about thirty minutes since the group kept getting off track.
Lloyd stepped inside his mother's office as the rest of his friends left the school.
Lloyd looked over to see Morro sitting next to euphrasia.
"What are you two still doing here?" Lloyd asked, taking a seat next to hi cousin. Morro looked up from the video the both of them were watching.
"Well we had a club meeting, and we need a ride home, and since Fray can't drive, and I don't have my car, and you aren't allowed to drive, I asked Auntie K to take me home, which she agreed to." Morro explained Lloyd nodded.
"That makes sense."
Koko exited the room a few minute later. "Have a nice day Ms. Taylor." Koko called as she shut her office door. "Okay kiddos lets go."
The four of them headed out into the car, Lloyd in the passenger while Morro and Fray in the back.
Koko turned on the radio to listen to her mom jams while Lloyd scrolled through his Ninjagram. A friend request popped up from: Rumiroo88.
Lloyd pressed accept and scrolled through some of her photos, liking them.
