Lloyd pulled up in his own driveway 15 minutes later, dreading confronting his dad. If Garmadon called Lloyd to discuss his detention then, Lloyd knew that he would be in big trouble. He parked his car and slowly made his way into the house. He tried his best to make little noise as he entered to not alert his father of his arrival.
Even with Lloyd's quiet footsteps and shushed movements, Garmadon still sensed Lloyd. "Come to my office," Garmadon called. Lloyd humphed, kicking off his shoes, and placing them in the shoe rack near the door before shrugging himself to his father's office.
Garmadon's desk was cluttered with random contracts and paper works that needed to be filled. Garmadon used his stapler to combine some papers together.
"Hand me that pen,' Garmadon commanded when Lloyd entered the room. Lloyd grabbed the black pen from the edge of the desk and handed it to Garmadon. Garmadon took it gratefully before scribbling down his signature.
"Have a seat," Garmadon pointed to the chair in front of his desk. Lloyd sat down, still silent.
Garmadon cleared his throat before starting, "I heard about the detention you got. Do you have anything to say for yourself."
Lloyd stayed silent, staring at his socked feet. Garmadon tapped his desk with his pen, signaling Lloyd to look up. "It was your French teacher wasn't it?"
Lloyd nodded. Garmadon rolled his eyes, his lips turning up with a smirk. "What did she accuse you of this time?" Lloyd let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He was happy that his father knew that this wasn't his fault.
"I only answered her question and then she started blowing up at me!" Lloyd explained, remembering the previous events. Garmadon nodded along.
"I never really liked that woman," He admitted. Lloyd smiled. "But that wasn't the reason why I wanted to talk to you,"
Lloyd straightened, noticing his father's change in tone. "What's up,"
"I need your help for my campaigning posters," Garmadon said, pulling out a folder from his desk drawer.
"This will take awhile," Lloyd muttered under his breath, opening the folder.
Koko came home from her grocery shopping to a silent house. At first she assumed both her boys were out, since usually the two men had events to go to on Saturday's. But then she realized that both of their cars were in the driveway.
Koko placed the groceries on the table for Chef Radney to put away before going into her room to change her clothes.
She pulled off her green scarf and hung it in her closet. She flipped off her shoes, placing them in the space designated for her 'outing shoes' space' on her shoe rack.
Koko liked keeping things clean and in order. It gave her a sense of control. That's why all events, in school and out of school, are planned by her. She changed her long skirt to gray sweatpants that were neatly folded in her dresser. Before leaving the room, she glanced over at the small family portrait that rested on her bed side table. Lloyd was only four years old, sitting on his dad's shoulders and reaching for the big green apple on the tree.
Koko remembered the memory like it was yesterday. Sadly, their annual apple pickings were scrapped once Lloyd turned twelve and his dad became Mayor. His busy schedule and Lloyd's teenage tendencies to not always hang out with his parents, cause the activity to be long gone, but not forgotten, at least not by Koko.
Koko shut her room door before heading off to find Garmadon and Lloyd. The Garmadon's had a decently sized house, with a few more rooms than they needed, which were used for when Koko's family showed up for holidays. Koko had to start planning the thanksgiving party, since it was Garmadon's and hers turn to host.
Koko peaked her head in Lloyd's room. His bed was unmade, but the rest of his room was decently clean, so Koko wouldn't berate him for it. She closed his door before heading downstairs. As she walked down the hallway, she could hear a small noise, almost like bickering. Even with the sound proof walls, Koko could still make out Garmadon and Llloyd arguing.
"Your name should be on the top because people read top to bottom," Lloyd explained, pointing to a campaign poster with the name on top.
"But if I have my name on the bottom then people would read all the benefits of me being Mayor first and then they would want to know my name," Garmadon countered, leaning back on his wheelie chair.
"We'll get back to that," Lloyd said, filtering through the different designs. Koko smiled, before walking past the room.
She had a meeting today at 6, which was in about two hours, with a school administrator. She needed to update him on the success of the school this year. She didn't exactly want to since Mr. Ulyesses Trustable, the administrator, was kind of old fashioned. Heck, he wanted Ninjago Academy to be an all boys school, and he wanted a sister school called Ninjago Finishing School that was meant to 'lady up today's girls to tomorrow's women'. To make matters worse, he was also running for Mayor. Hopefully, no one would vote for him.
She made her way to her own home office to answer emails of co-workers and parents. A couple complaints caught Koko's eye, all of which had to do with Mrs. Lambussy. Half of them were Lloyd's poor attempts at disguising himself as one of the other students. Koko shook her head before replying with an "I'll see into it".
Koko didn't exactly like Mrs. Lambussy, but the four year contract restricting her from firing the lady kept Mrs. Lambussy's job.
Koko sighed, shutting the email tab. She pulled up zooming groaning. She now had to sit through a one hour lecture from Mr. Ulysses Trustable about everything she's doing wrong as a principal.
