Lunchtime was the perfect time to say everything that needed to be said since every student was in the same place at the same time. Somehow, architecture and engineering allowed 600+ people to fit into one huge room with a bunch of long tables.
The room wasn't exactly crowded, but there wasn't a lot of free space either. With the fall growing colder and the winds picking up, the outdoor eating area was closed off till Spring.
Either way, the break between morning and afternoon classes was utilized well and held many announcements, rumors, and club meetings.
Harumi walked into room 120. She was sure she was in the right place since the moment she walked in, a bunch of girls were seated in front of a large poster. A poster with Lloyd's face printed on it.
Harumi would be lying if she didn't think this club, was a cult. There were pictures of Lloyd posted all over the room, which would've been normal if it was a home gallery, but it wasn't. It was a club meeting decoration.
"Welcome all," Tasha said as she stood in the front of the room. Harumi quickly sat in one of the chairs near the middle of the classroom, not trying to look too eager or too bored. "Twenty-four, twenty-five! Looks like we are all here."
"Okay, let's start with the rules," Tasha began. Harumi drifted off into daydream land, imagining the prom queen crown being placed on her head.
"Psst." A voice from Harumi's left woke Harumi up from her daydream. Harumi turned her head to face the person who called her.
"Do you even want to be here?" The girl with brown short hair asked. Harumi shrugged. "Well, I don't. I mistakenly wrote my name down for this club, instead of the robotics club. So now I'm stuck here."
"That sucks," Harumi said, straightening her posture. "I'm Harumi."
"Rachael, but I usually go by Blazey." She said, sticking her hand out for a handshake.
"What do they even do in this club?" Harumi asked, turning back to look at the front of the room, where a slide show presentation was showing.
"Oh, from what I know of the previous years, it's just a bunch of girls who crush on Lloyd and want to be his first girlfriend since he's single." Blazey explained, arms crossed. Harumi hummed along.
Her quest of 'love' would come with some side quests and obstacles since she wasn't the only one seeking the blonde's attention. So far, she knew little about the blond compared to the rest of the girls in this group.
She would need to attend more meetings to learn more information about Lloyd to become close to him. Though, her current status as Vania's friend didn't look so good, considering that Lloyd's friends didn't approve of her. Harumi couldn't exactly ditch Vania since being her friend was already gaining her some popularity.
Even though Harumi would ditch Vania by the end of the year when she stole Vania's spot as queen bee, she still needed Vania to learn the ropes of the school and the status quo.
As far as Harumi knew, there were no particular outcasts that would lose her popularity if she hang out with them, which was a positive effect since the more friends she made the more popular she would become.
However, she had more pressing matter on her hands. With the mayor election coming up and her father running against the well-respected Mayor Garmadon, Antler-Her father- needed anything he could get to win, even if that meant cheating. Which is why, Harumi needed to befriend Lloyd and meet his father.
"And that's the end of our time. See you guys next week." Tasha said, clicking off the slideshow and turning off the smart board. Harumi stretched, blinking the sleep away from her eyes since she had blacked out five minutes after Blazey stopped speaking. Hopefully she didn't miss anything important.
Harumi grabbed her bag and stepped out of the classroom. The bell had rung and it was time for her dance class. Harumi sighed; she didn't exactly enjoy dance as much as she pretended to. It was just another plot to gain popularity.
Harumi spotted Vania in the crowd of students and walked over to her. Vania's back was turned and Tox had her hand over her shoulder as if she was comforting her. Tox spotted Harumi and waved her over.
"Let's go to the bathroom really quick," Tox said, pulling Vania over to the nearest restroom. She closed the door behind them and sighed.
Harumi looked over at Vania who had tears streaming down her face. Her mascara was running, ruining the rest of her make up, but Vania didn't seem to care.
"Oh my gosh, Vanny? What happened?" Harumi said, grabbing a few tissues and handing them to Vania who dabbed her face with them.
"That useless girl won't quit! First, she's making dating plans with my ex and now she's got the Cheer captain gunning for me," Vania wailed, blowing her nose. Harumi's eyebrows went up in confusion.
"Apparently Ms. boyfriend stealing Selina decided to go snitch to Nya about the teasing and now Nya is threatening Vania's position as Co-Captain if she doesn't stop." Tox said, throwing away Vania's used tissues.
"She has the power to do that?" Harumi asked.
"Yes, she controls cheer tryouts and makes all the cuts. So it isn't a good idea to get on her bad side." Tox said. Harumi made a mental note to not get on Nya's bad side. Cheer in spring was going to boost Harumi's popularity to the roof if she made the team.
"So it's either I lose Nicky to that annoying roach, or I lose my position that I've worked so hard for." Vania hiccupped. "It's not fair at all."
"I mean you could always start rumors..." Harumi suggested. Her hours used on mean girls and popular mean girl movies really paid off at the moment. "Then, no one could actually blame you since they wouldn't know who started them."
"That's an amazing idea," Vania said, her tears all dried up. "Then I can ruin her self-esteem and make her a social outcast. But it has to be something smart and real. Something that people would believe."
"Maybe you could talk about her mom? It seems like a touchy subject for her." Tox brought up. Vania smiled in agreement.
"That would be perfect!" Vania wrapped Tox in a big tight hug before pulling out her makeup bag to fix her makeup. "Selina will never be as good as her mom, and I'll be sure to remind her of that."
The three girls left the bathroom with a foul proof plan in their heads. Vania and Harumi split off from Tox who didn't take dance class.
"What are we going to tell Madame Balie when we get to class?" Harumi asked as the to enter the hallway with the dance class. Vania smirked.
"I'll handle it." She said, pushing open the door and walking through.
"And why are you two late?" Madame asked, staring the two down. Vania pulled Madame to the side.
"Ms. Harumi over here had an early visit from Ms. Flo if you now what I mean. I mean there was blood everywhere-poor thing. Of course I couldn't just leave her like that." Vania explained. Harumi's cheeks glowed red in embarrassment as Madame nodded along.
"How kind of you Vania. Hurry now get int your spots." Madame shooed the two girls away.
"How about a warning next time before you embarrass me like that?" Harumi whispered to Vania who waved her off.
"Then she wouldn't believe it." Vania strutted over to her spot next to Chamille and started chatting.
Harumi huffed, rolling her eyes before taking her spot at the beginning of the line.
