Christian's family shows Christian his plot in the family's vault.
Christian frowned as he, his family, and Jason entered a big building in the shape of a hexagon. The interior is just as grey as the exterior. With shiny tiling for the floor. And seems to have been around for a very long time.
Ashley ran in excitement. The clitter clatter of her high heels echoed throughout the room they were in. She stopped in front of a rectangular hole with a door covering it. "This is me!" She bounced in excitement.
"This isn't a candy store." Jacob told her.
"I know." Ashley said. "But I just wanted to make sure that I'm in the same spot."
Roger rolled his eyes. "We already chose where we're going to be for when we croak." He pointed at Christian. "We're here to show this goofball where he'll be put to rest."
Christian's frown deepened. "I don't know about this, guys. I was thinking about being buried in Parish Hills behind the Holy Rose Parish Church."
Calvin gawked at his long-lost son. "Are you mad? That's holy ground. How would your family visit you?"
"Holy ground? Isn't dirt the same everywhere?"
"Not for supernatural beings."
"I'm sure you guys would be fine. Just don't go in barefoot."
Calvin gave him a look. "You are going into the family mausoleum whether you want to or not."
"C'mon dad." Sarah spoke. "Ultimately, it's his decision."
Calvin opened his mouth when Tracy stepped in. "Before making one, how about seeing the spot we chose for you?"
"Fine." Christian groaned out before following his parents across the room to two rectangular holes that are covered with metallic doors. One is blank. And the other had a faded name on it. "Who is Liam Dulong?" His siblings sniggered.
"That's you, bro." Ashley answered.
"What?"
"Your actual name is Liam. Just like how your real birthday is in September."
"You don't know your birth name?" Jason asked him.
"I never asked what it was." Christian said. "I'm fine with the name I have so I never thought to figure it out. But where did Dulong come from?"
"It is both our last names combined." Calvin explained. "We didn't choose who got Dubois or Longtail until your siblings attended school. And when we couldn't find you, we merged them together."
"And you engraved it back then?"
"Just in case we found you under mysterious circumstances."
"Very comforting." Christian mumbled sarcastically. "And why are we looking at possible graves now?"
"We are all getting older." Calvin replied. "And we want to be prepared for the future. Especially when you all get married and have families."
Tracy smiled a bit. "Anyways, this is where you'll be." She gestured towards the empty slot. "And this is where Jason shall be if you both agree to it."
"You guys got me a spot?" Jason asked surprised.
"Of course." Tracy chirped. "You are family after all."
Jason smiled at Christan's family. "I appreciate it very much." he stared at his fiancé. "You guys will change his name to his current one, right?"
Everyone looked at Calvin, and he sighed. "It'll be redone when his time comes." his gaze fell upon Christian making him bristle despite sulking.
When their visit to the family mausoleum was finished, Jason wrapped his arm around Christian. "When we get back home, how about showing me Parish Hills."
Christian stared at Jason with wide eyes. "You mean it?"
"I noticed how much this means to you. Don't get me wrong. The idea of being in a crypt is tempting, but I don't mind being buried in a church graveyard."
"But what if it affects you?"
"I am a zombie. Holy ground has no effect on zombies. Besides, what matters to me is being with you for all eternity."
"Jason." Christian felt touched. "But what about my family? You saw how my dad reacted."
"It is like Sarah said earlier. It's your decision in the end." He wrapped his arm around Christian. "Now, let's take a look at where you might be interested in being buried." Christian smiled a bit as they walked out of his family's burial grounds.
A few days later, "You are what?! Calvin screamed on the phone.
"What's wrong, dear?" Tracy asked her husband as Christian's siblings watched in curiosity.
"Our son and Jason have purchased a couple of plots behind the church he mentioned earlier." Calvin explained to his family members before turning his attention back to the phone. "How could you two do this to us? We can't step foot on to holy ground that easily. Wait, on the outskirts of the cemetery? That may have solved our issue of visiting you two, but." Calvin sighed. "I understand. Can't say I'm disappointed about you two not being in the family crypt but whatever makes you two happy, I'll accept your decision. Show us where your plots shall be so we can know where it is for when your time comes. Sounds good. Kay, bye." he hung up and stomped his foot in annoyance.
"C'mon dad." Jessie spoke. "It won't be that bad. It's their wish, and we must respect them."
"I know but, the thought of any of my children being in a church cemetery is unnerving."
"It's not like they're going to be put inside the church where the altar is located." Sarah told her dad. "The fact that they chose the outskirts of the graveyard shows that they gave us some thought."
Calvin sulked. "It'll take a while before I get used to the idea, but at least knowing the rest of you being in our family vault gives me comfort."
"Father." John talked. "I must speak with you regarding where Sebastian and I wish to be put to rest."
"Oh no." Cavlin told his eldest son. "Don't tell me you wish to be elsewhere as well."
"Sebastian wishes to rest by his parents. And we both want to be resting together as well, so I was hoping to make arrangements to be placed in Sebastian's family tomb."
"Good grief."
"Honey." Tracy rubbed circles on Calvin's back to try soothing him.
"Very well." he finally spoke. "At least you won't be in holy ground. We shall speak to Gerard Niko regarding this matter and make arrangements."
"Thank you, father." John slumped in relief.
"Anybody else wishes to discuss other resting places?" Calvin asked the others.
"No."
"I'm good."
"Like I'm giving up my spot."
"Master."
Everyone looked at Troy standing in the doorway. "I wish to speak with you about my final resting place."
"Good grief." Calvin drooped before hearing Troy's plans for when he croaks one day.
