Continuation of River Bend Pack 1.

"I think there's been a misunderstanding." Christian told Dean.

"There is no mistaking it." Dean told him. "The moment I laid eyes on you and sniffed your scent. I knew you were my fated mate."

"Dean." Jessie said. "There must be a mistake, because he already has a mate."

"That's right." Christian agreed with his sister. "I'm engaged to marry the love of my life." He shrank when Dean growled at him.

"Then I must fight for you."

"Alpha." Duke spoke up. "You can't seriously think about marrying this mongrel."

"Who are you calling a mongrel?" Christian started but Jessie clearing her throat made him change his tune. "I mean, he's right. I am half vampire and half werewolf. I'm sure a full blooded werewolf would be better for you."

"It doesn't matter." Dean told Christian.

"Come again?"

"You are the mate that the moon goddess has chosen for me, and I will not turn you away." Dean stared at Jessie. "Call up this so-called mate of his and tell him that I challenge him to a duel."

"But his mate is a zombie." Jessie said. "There's no way you could have a fair fight against him."

"Alpha." Duke mumbled in Dean's ear. "Please listen. This isn't a good idea."

"Then have him choose a champion to fight in his place." Dean insisted. "Either that, or I shall marry him at sunrise."

"He can't do that." Christian said to everyone. "Can he?" Nobody spoke making Christian nervous.

Jessie's jaw clenched tightly. "I'll make the call."

"Good." Dean snapped his fingers. "Guards."

"Yes alpha."

"Take my future mate and your soon-to-be crowned Luna to the box office tower to await the battle."

"What?!" Christian grabbed onto the table for dear life as the guards tried prying him away. "Jessie!"

"Go with them." Jessie told him. "I'll call the others and explain everything."

"But."

"It'll be okay."

"Do as the lady says." One of the guards gritted out as scratch marks appeared where Christian's nails dug through until he lost his grip and they grabbed him.

"Hey!" They took Christian out of the room. And thirty seconds later, he ran for his life back into the dining hall with the guards chasing his tail.

"Get over here!" Christian dodged them and dove underneath the table where guests and members of the River Bend Pack let out surprised gasps.

"Pull your guards back." Jessie told Dean. "And let me have a word with him please."

Dean let out a sigh. "Very well." He whistled and had the guards stand down.

"Thank you." Jessie said before diving under the table where everyone could hear whispering among the two. Jessie emerged a minute later with Christian and handed him a piece of duck. "Do what you are told and behave yourself." Christian pouted and stomped over to the guards and allowed them to escort him out as he ate. "I'll go make that call now." Jessie told Dean before rushing out.

Christian was shoved into a clear square cage in a dark room. "Don't get any ideas." One of the guards said. "This is plexy glass. It's strong enough to withstand hurricane winds, so don't even think about trying to break out."

Christian puffed his cheeks out as they secured the box and left. "Great. Just great." He mumbled sarcastically. He didn't know how much time passed until he heard his phone ring. Christian face palmed himself before checking to see who's calling. His heart raced when he saw Jason's name on display.

"Hey." He talked as low as possible so the guards don't confiscate his phone.

"Jessie told us what happened. Why the hell does everyone want to steal you away from me?"

"How should I know?"

"When I get my hands on that bastard."

"We'll figure something out."

"Like what?"

"I'm thinking."

"Think faster, because the others and I are on our way up there."

Christian drooped. "Who's going to fight the crowned alpha?"

"Jacob."

"Jacob?"

"Got a problem with that?"

"No."

"Would you rather I fight him?"

"I'd prefer no fighting at all but."

"Another big word for the pip squeak." Christian heard Jacob's voice.

"Am I on speaker?"

"What do you think?" Jason answered. Christian puffed his cheeks out. "Are you pouting?"

Christian heard voices. "Got to go. Call you guys when there's no guards around." He hung up quickly and stuffed his phone in his pants.

That's when Dean entered with the guards accompanying him. "May I speak with you?" Christian hesitated but nodded his head. Much to his surprise, the guards unlocked the box and let the crowned alpha inside before relocking it. "I'll call you when we are done." The guards left them alone.

"So." Christian fidgeted nervously. "What brings you here?"

"I came here to convince you that I am your mate."

"I think not."

"Why do you keep denying who you are meant to be with?"

"I'm not denying anything." Christian told Dean. "I know who my mate is. And sorry but, it's not you."

"But you are my Luna." Dean told him. "There's no doubt about it."

"Are you sure you didn't confuse me with someone else?" Christian asked Dean. "There were people behind me and my sister."

Dean knelt down in front of Christian. "I would never mistake someone else for my mate. If you call off this ridiculous union between this so-called mate, I'll call off the fight."

"No."

"What?"

"As much as I hate fighting. I am not calling off Jason and I's union. He is my mate. Nobody else. So you'll have to."

I love you and will take very good care of you."

Christian frowned. "I'm sorry Dean. You seem like a great guy, but my answer remains the same."

Dean let out a menacing growl. "Then I shall beat my opponent into submission. And when I win, you shall stay with me and become my Luna."

"And if I refuse to become your Luna?"

"You'll be locked away until you learn to be my mate."

"You can't do that." Christian said. "That's kidnapping and imprisonment."

"Not on my turf."

"You're nuts."

Christian flinched when Dean punched the wall close to his head. "No one calls me crazy." His eyes softened when he saw tears forming in red head's eyes. "Please don't cry." He embraced him gently. "I would never hurt you." He mumbled. "You believe me, don't you?"

Christian felt his face flushing as he inhaled the alpha's intoxicating scent. "Help me." Christian whispered back.

Sighing, Dean let go. "I shall see you and your champion at sunrise." He got up and left.
