If Christian and Jason met at a museum.
Six year old Roger and Jacob are growling at the large T-Rex skeleton standing before them.
"It's dead." Troy stated. "So, knock it off." They ignored him as he spotted six year old Jessie and Sarah petting a stuffed mammoth at another exhibit, and six year old Ashley is trying to feed it with a plant she clearly pulled out from a planter that's now destroyed. "Get away from there, you little brats!" He stomped over, escorted them out, and gathered the five children. "Now, where are the final two of you?" He looked around before seeing a familiar red head across the room.
Six year old Christian is on the verge of crying as he looks up at a pterodactyl skeleton hanging on the ceiling and staring back down at him as if it's going to eat him. Tears began to slip as sniffles racked his body.
Out of nowhere, a white handkerchief was presented to him. When he looked at the source, it was his six year old brother John. "Here." He offered the little white fabric to him.
He took it and blew his nose. "Thank you." He said meekly and held it out to return it.
Before John could reject the now dirty handkerchief, "You two!" Troy came out of nowhere with the others. His outburst made Christian sob, and caught onlookers' attention.
"Mean old fart." Ashley spoke as Troy bent down, picked Christian up, and retreated with everyone in tow.
When they arrive in a room where children can dig up their own fossils, "Troy?" They see a fair-skinned woman about Troy's age accompanied with a group of pale kids.
"Linda?"
She smiled and made her way over to him. "Long time no see. How have you been?"
"Okay. Just showing these brats. I mean, my master's bundles of joys around the museum."
"What a coincidence. My class and I are on a field trip. Care to join us?" She asked
"You want more kids around?"
She giggled. "I see you haven't lost your sense of humor."
"I wasn't trying to be."
"You are just darling." She cut him off and took a closer look at Christian and his siblings. "Would you like to see more of the museum with us?" Christian's siblings cheered as a way of answering. "Good. Now, let's pair you up with a group." And Christian is in the same group as seven year old Jason and his eight year old sister Emma.
"Why am I always stuck with you?" He asked her annoyed.
She gave him the stink eye. "Well, excuse me." Her face softened when she looked at Christian. He blushed bashfully at them. "You're adorable." She pulled him into a tight hug making him grunt and Jason huff.
Twenty minutes later, all the children are digging in the oversized sandbox having the time of their lives while Troy and Linda get reacquainted.
"I found a skull!" Ashley chirped.
"We found some ribs!" Jacob yelled in excitement.
"We must be digging in the wrong spot." Jason said. "There's nothing here."
"Maybe you're right." Emma agreed before looking around. "Where's the adorable red-head?"
"Who cares." Jason spat. "He's a simpleton."
"Jason." His sister reprimanded as the dirt by them shook.
"What the heck?" Jason questioned.
That's when Christian's head popped out with a femur in his mouth.
Emma squealed as she rushed over to him. "Who's a good boy? You are. You are." She cooed.
"This is ridiculous." Jason hissed out before sneaking away as everyone had fun.
A half hour later, "Where could he be?" Linda asked after doing a head count, and is searching for Jason with Troy and the other kids.
"That's what children do." Troy said. "I can't tell you how many times my master's pests. I mean, his little blessings have run off on me."
"It isn't like him though." Linda spoke. "Normally he's one of the ones that behaves and never wanders around."
As they continued talking and walking, Emma couldn't help looking around frantically. "Don't worry. We'll find him." Little Jessie is assuring her.
"I hope so." She said. "Cause I'd never forgive myself if something happened to him."
As they are passing by a stegosaurus, Christian caught a familiar scent and sniffed the air. "Friend?" He separated from the group and made his way over to the dinosaur skeleton. When he got close enough he found Jason sitting behind it sulking.
"I can't believe I got lost." He talked to himself. "It's a museum for goodness sakes."
He was on the verge of tears when a white handkerchief was presented to him. He looked up to see Christian holding it out.
"What do you want?"
"Looking for you."
He growled at him. "I don't need to be found. So get lost."
"But you're sad." Christian gave Jason a sympathetic look.
"I wasn't sad." Jason said. "I was angry with myself." He observed the little cloth. "That's clean, right?"
"Let's find the others." Christian pleaded. "Everyone is worried about you."
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah right."
"It's true." He insisted. "Emma is sad."
Jason began to feel guilty. "Fine. But don't tell anybody that I got lost, or I'll never hear the end of it."
"Yay!" Christian smiled wide and sparkled making Jason blush.
"Bro!" They looked to the side to see everyone rushing to them.
Emma embraced Jason tightly. "Why did you leave? I was so worried."
"I was just looking around. No need to get worked up over me." She released him and gave him a dirty look before beaming at Christian.
"Thanks for finding my brother."
He blushed bashfully and responded, "You're welcome."
Jason couldn't help staring at him and felt his heart beating erratically.
After that, Linda is loading everyone into the yellow school bus. "It was a pleasure seeing you again." Troy said. "Maybe we can meet again on our next days off."
Linda smiled at him. "I would like that." Troy couldn't help smiling himself.
"Troy and Linda sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Ashley sang.
Troy gave Christian and his siblings a mean look. "Mind your own business, you trouble makers."
"Ooh. Troy's getting mad."
"He must really like you."
He groaned at them while Linda chuckled. "How does Tuesday evening at Maestros sound?"
His scowl softened. "Sounds great. Is eight o'clock good?"
"I'll be there."
At the same time Jason nudged Christian with his elbow. "Hey. If you don't mind, here's my number." He handed him a gum wrapper with ink written on it. "Maybe we can hang out sometime."
Christian accepted it with his face flushing, but smiling nonetheless.
"Jason!" Linda called out to him.
"Just a sec!" He grinned at Christian. "I'll talk to you and see you real soon." He promised before running and climbing onto the bus.
"Ooh." Christian's siblings all said.
"Little brother has a boyfriend." Ashley teased making him blush and them laugh.
"Maybe you and Troy can double date together." Jacob added.
"Shut up and get into the car." Troy ushered them over to the Cruella DeVille vehicle as they continued poking fun at him and Christian.
