I showed up at school the next morning scared for my life. I kept looking over my shoulder for the entire day. I stayed with Amanda for the whole day knowing he wouldn't attack me if I wasn't alone. I tried to stay in crowded places but it didn't help because he still found me.
I was walking down an empty hallway on to my way to my locker after school, when arms reached out and grabbed me, pulling me into a door way.
"Hey trying to hide from me?" he said pushing me up against the wall. I turned my head, looking away. He turned it back. "You look really pretty today," he said, sliding his finger down my collar bone and then my chest. I was wearing a v neck shirt with a tanktop underneath it. He pulled down the tank top a little bit, revealing more skin. I felt my breathing pick up.
"Just leave me alone," I said quietly, afraid of his reaction.
"Don't wear such tight and short shorts and maybe I would." His fore head was touching mine now. He tried to kiss me and I moved away, his lips hitting my cheek instead. "Aw don't be that way." He said grabbing my face. He forced a kiss on my lips. I just stood there repulsed. "Don't worry, I'm not done with you yet. I'll see you tomorrow." He winked at me, letting go of my of my face. He took a step back, smirked and then walked away. I let out a deep breath, relieved that he didn't hurt me but scared about tomorrow. I quickly called the first person I could think of.
"Hey Louis, it's Jess," I said, trying to hide my emotions.
"Hey babe what's going on?" he asked.
"Are you busy right now? I kind of need a ride home from school and I don't want to wait for Todd to pick me up."
"Sure babe I'll be there in a couple of minutes."
"Ok, thanks, bye." I said hanging up the phone.
I walked down to the courtyard, totally avoiding the hallway Tyler went down. I sat there fidgeting nervously until Louis showed up. I quickly got in the car avoiding eye contact with Louis.
"Hey you sounded kind of worried on the phone, is everything alright?" he asked, grabbing my hand.
"Ya everything is fine," I said with a fake smile. He smiled back, putting the car in drive and speeding off. I relaxed a little bit, knowing that I was safe with Louis. I debated whether not I should tell him about what happened. I wasn't supposed to tell anyone, but it's not like Louis went to our school or anything so he couldn't really confront him. Or maybe he could. Or maybe Louis could scare him.
"Actually, there is something," I said shakily.
"What? What happened?" he said giving me a concerned look.
"Well there's this guy at school bothering me and-"
"What's his name? I'll fuck him up!"
"No Louis! That's the problem. He said if I tell someone that he'd hurt me. So you can't," I said. I felt like I wanted to cry. I've been holding it in for so long and now telling it to Louis just made it worse.
"If he hurts you I swear to god I'll kill him!"
"I'm scared Louis, I don't know what to do." I put my head in my hands and started to sob.
"Jess, stop crying. Jess," he said rubbing my back. I couldn't stop crying. I felt the car come to a stop. I looked up to see Louis had pulled over. He undid his seat belt and leaned over, pulling me into his chest. He rubbed my back.
"Don't be scared. I won't let him hurt you, I'll protect you. Nobody's going to hurt you."
After I broke down in the car, Louis calmed me down enough so he could continue driving. We went back to his place where we cuddled on the couch. He put in a movie to distract me and to get my mind off things.
I snuggled up into his side, him wrapping his arm around me pulling me in close. He pulled the blanket up around my shoulders making sure my entire body was covered.
"Louis," I said.
"Ya?" he said looking at me.
"I don't understand. Why me? Out of all those other girls why me?" I asked.
"Guys like that are just looking for a reaction. They scare you into doing what they want. He knew that you would put up a fight. If you just automatically did what he said it wouldn't be a game anymore. He chose you because your hard to get. And everybody wants something they can't have."
"What should I do then?"
"You're strong Jess, and smart. I know you won't let him get to you," he paused," Ha-has he hurt you?" he asked, looking down.
"No but he's threaten to," I said. I watched his face go from concerned to relieved.
"Ok well if he hurts you, you can charge him. But I'm not going to let him hurt you. Trust me."
"Thank you," I said.
"No need to thank me," he said, kissing my forehead. I shuffled myself closer so I could kiss him on the lips. He gently kissed me back.
"I'll pick you up from school tomorrow. So you don't have to wait there, ok?" he said, rubbing my shoulder.
"Thanks, Louis, for being here, for everything."
