I woke up in pain, my entire body was stiff. Every time I breathed I felt a sharp stabbing pain in my ribs. What happened? Did I fall out of bed or something? My head hurt really bad also, it felt like it would explode at any minute.

I opened my eyes, it being hard to see. Why couldn't I see? The light hurt so bad, all I wanted to do was to close my eyes again. I forced them open.

What the fuck? Where am I? This isn't my room. I started to panic....but then I saw Todd sitting at the end of my bed on a chair. Am I in the hospital?

He was sleeping in the chair.

"Todd," I croaked it barely coming out in a whisper. It hurt to talk, not only just my throat, but my ribs and my face.

"Todd," I tried again. I raised my arm trying to find something to throw at him. There was a sling on my right arm. My stomach dropped. What happened to me?

I reached over with my left hand grabbing an empty cup on the beside table. I threw it at him, him jolting awake.

"Wha... Jess?" he gasped, sitting up in his chair.

"What happened?" I asked. He frowned and got up from his chair.

"I'll go tell the doctor you're awake," he said quietly. He kept his head down as he walked out, not making any eye contact. I'm confused and I don't like it. I don't even know what day it is! The last thing I remember was walking to the bus stop. Did I get mugged?

"Oh good morning! Or I guess I should say good afternoon. I'm Dr. Williams," the doctor said, smiling. I just stared at her not saying anything. "Oh well do you know what day it is, Jess?" she asked continuing on after I didn't say anything.

"No," I groaned.

"Ok can you tell me what happened?" she asked.

"No. How about you tell me," I replied. She seemed a little pushed back by my smart ass remark. Todd just shook his head.

"Memory loss is common in severe head injuries. You should regain it soon," she smiled.

"Severe?" I asked. What happened to me?

"Yes you suffered multiple blows to the head." I felt my forehead my fingers sliding across a bandage. "You also fractured your arm and have 2 broken ribs. You are very lucky you didn't get hypothermia," she told me. I looked back and forth between Todd and the doctor. I'm confused and no one was answering what happened.

"Hypothermia...." I said. More to myself then to anyone else.

"Jess they found you passed out in the snow by the school," Todd filled me in.

"What? I never made it to the bus stop?" I stuttered. It was quiet for awhile. I tried to think back but everything was foggy and unclear.

"Well you just have to go through a final check up and then you can go home. So get dressed and I'll be back in a bit," she smiled. She exited the room leaving me and Todd alone.

"Who did this to you?" Todd asked through a clenched jaw. Who? What does he mean who?

"What?"

"Seriously Jess? Do you think you just fell down the stairs? Some one beat you up!" he said his voice shaky. Then it clicked. Tyler. I don't know how or what happened, but I can guarantee it was him. That bastard!!

"Can we talk about this later? I just want to go home. How long have I been here?" I asked.

"Since yesterday," he answered.
