I downed another shot, the vodka burning as it slid down my throat. It ignited a fire in my throat and chest, warming my body up. Not that the bar wasn't hot enough already.
"Ok I think you're done," Louis said grabbing my hand that was going for another shot.
"What, why?" I whined.
"Because that's like your fifth one," he informed me.
"I'm a big girl, I can handle my liquor, hubby," I accented the word hubby right in front of his face. I looked around the bar. I never actually had been in a bar before. It was small but not too small. It was what you would expect a bar to look like. Dead animal's heads hanging off the wall and an overabundance of dark wood on the walls, floor and tables. In the front there was a stage and a dance floor.
I ran my hand across the slick smooth surface of the long wooden bar, reaching for another shot.
"I seen what you look like drunk before. And after a couple more shots you won't be able to "control your liquor"," he repeated.
"Come on Lou, let your woman have her fun," Niall laughed.
"You can scrape her off the bathroom floor tonight then," Louis told Niall.
"When did you start becoming so over protective?" I blurted out. Something I wouldn't have said if I was sober.
"I think you know when."
"Relax dude, have another drink," Harry said, pushing a beer towards him.
"No thanks Harry. I'm trying to cut back," he said looking me dead in the eye. I looked away, his stare making me feel uncomfortable and focused on Niall.
"What happened to you? Girlfriends and now you cut back on drinking? What has Jess done to you?" Harry joked, before taking a sip of what was supposed to be Louis beer.
"Nothing, I did it myself," Louis admitted.
"Yup all him. If he wants to drink he can go right ahead," I said patting him on the shoulder.
"Marry me?" Niall said, grabbing my hands.
"Sorry, Louis has first dibs," I giggled. I caught myself. "I mean Louis already got me," I said to cover it up. I don't think anyone was listening anyways. I noticed something about Niall's hands. I rubbed his fingers in between mine, they were rough and callused. He looked at me weird-ed out.
"Um..."
"You must play guitar too!" I yelled excitedly.
"Ya I do," he said, taking a sip of his beer. I noticed a man on stage approached a guitar, picking it up. He sat down on a stool in front of the microphone.
"If you any of you lovely people want to play us a song, feel free to come up here! No matter how good or bad you are! Or how drunk I should say. I'm gonna start us off tonight. And then feel free just come up here and sing or play a song!" the man on stage said, which got me thinking.
"You guys should get up there and play me a song!" I yelled leaning over towards where the rest of the boys were sitting. The look on their faces told me they were contemplating it. "Oh come on! For me! It could be like a wedding present!" I yelled.
"Make you a deal," began Louis," We will play a song if you play a song." I thought about for a minute. I figured there was probably enough alcohol in my system to be brave enough to do it. And just not to care.
"Fine I'll do it. But I'm gonna need at least 3 more shots..."
"Deal," said Louis, before he kissed me. "Remember? We kiss on it," he added. I smiled.
