So I made it through almost the entire day with out a Tyler spotting which is good, but there is still the matter of getting home. I don't want to say I'm in the clear just yet. I'm still on edge.
"Jess, can you come here for a minute?" my teacher asked. I made my way over to her desk. I wasn't nervous to talk to her, I liked her. Right now I just wasn't sure what teachers knew and gossip does spread fast at this school, even in the staff. I just didn't want a whole bunch of teachers pestering me with questions.
"Yes?"
"Could you possibly do that assignment for me today after school?" she asked.
"I'm sorry I don't think I can." I have to go home with Amanda I don't have a choice.
"Jess I really need that assignment done. It's been due over a couple of weeks now and it's not fair to the other students because they want to see their mark. But I can't until I have all of them."
"I can't do it at home?" I begged.
"No the supplies you need must stay in school. Unless you have a 40x magnification micro scope at home?" I checked around the room. I don't know what I was looking for, I guess I was just being paranoid.
"I guess so," I sighed.
"Ok just stay after class," she smiled. Just my fucking luck.
...
The rest of the class went by fairly quickly which was what I was dreading. I was nervous. I just didn't want to be in this school alone. Well I guess I wasn't alone, I had the teacher.
"Well Jess I have a staff meeting to go to. So you can just leave your assignment on my desk when you're finished," she said getting up from her chair. Oh shit. I am alone. She smiled as she left the room closing the door behind her.
It's fine Jess, I'm sure he went home by now, I convinced myself. I just have to finish this and I can go home, where I'm safe.
I looked over the assignment, it only being made up of 4 questions. I could finish this in no time! It would take me like 5 minutes.
I zoomed over all the questions, answering them quickly but thoughtfully. I placed it on her desk and packed up my stuff getting ready to leave. Oh shit how was I supposed to get home? Amanda would have left already, Todd told me he had wrestling practice and Louis said he had to help Stan with something. I guess it was the bus for me. It was no big deal I didn't mind, plus I didn't want to bother someone else. I would have to wait at the bus stop though... No I'm fine he's gone I'm sure of it.
I walked out of the class, putting on my jacket as I did. I put on my toque and mitts ready to brave the cold. I wish I had a scarf but I didn't think I'd be taking the bus today. It was surprisingly warmer outside then I expected. Still fucking cold though. The snow was sticky a good sign that it's warming up.
I swear I heard foot steps behind me as I walked. I turned around and I couldn't see anyone. My heart started to race my instincts telling me to run. I looked one more time and there was still no one to be seen. I dismissed the feeling and the noise.
I took a few more steps walking along side the outside wall of the school. I started to get that feeling again. The feeling that someone was watching me. I ignored it and kept on walking...
Which was a terrible idea because a second later something hit my head.
I fell into snow, my head throbbing. What the fuck? I quickly stood up, using the wall to help me.There was a text book laying beside me. Who would hit me with a text book...
