I didn't know what to expect when arrived at our destination. Louis didn't tell me anything about where we were going, all I knew was that it wasn't too far away. When we pulled up into the familiar yard, I knew exactly where we were, even though the place was covered in snow.
"We've been here before. Isn't this your friend....." I couldn't remember his name at the moment,"Danny! Danny's cabin?"
"It is. He told me I could borrow it at any time. I thought it would be good for us. Just you and me alone, no one else to bother us." I smiled and wrapped my arms around him, giving him a make shift hug and a kiss on the cheek.
He parked in the gravel driveway and I hopped out, him following me to the door.
"So do you have a key?" I asked.
"Nope, we are going to break in." I laughed but then I realized he was being serious when he started walking to a nearby window.
"Wait what?"
"Don't worry he told me the best way to get in," he laughed. He popped the screen out of the window, setting it down on the wooden deck. He slid it open with ease. I watched as he stuck his feet in the window.
"Don't hurt yourself," I frantically say. Who knows how far the drop is, or if there is anything beneath him. He laughed and shook his head at me.
"Don't be such a worry wart and go stand by the door," he laughed. I have to admit it he looked pretty hot climbing through that window. It made me picture him being that bad boy that sneaks in my window at night to sleep with me and defy my parents.
I walked to the door after he disappeared into the darkness. A couple minutes later the door swung open letting me in.
"It is fricking cold outside," I said shaking, as I walked in the door. The sun was just starting to set outside making it more chilling.
"That is what happens in November," he laughed pulling me closer. His nose brushed up against mine, and I felt my shaking seize. His lips were just inches for mine and I couldn't wait to kiss him. "I'll go build a fire," he whispered, smirking and sending me a wink. He was such a tease.
He turned and walked away leaving me in the doorway.
"You are such an asshole," I whined. I pulled off my coat throwing it on a nearby chair. The cabin sure was beautiful and rustic looking. I pictured myself older, being able to afford a cabin of my own, bringing my kids here in the summer time. Maybe Louis would be there.... No I can't think that way because I may disappoint myself.
I watched as Louis set up the wood in the fireplace, shoving newspaper in the holes between the wood. He took a nearby lighter and lit the paper. I walked up behind him, kneeling down and wrapping my arms around him.
"Excuse me? I'm an asshole?" he laughed.
"Yes, but you're my asshole." I placed a kiss on his cheek. I liked this. Just this morning Louis and I weren't even a couple and now we are acting like nothing happened at all. "That's a good fire you built. Didn't know you were a woodsman."
"Thanks, babe." He patted the empty floor in front of him, motioning for me to sit. I walked around him and sat down in front, leaning my back against his chest. The heat from the fire surrounded me and it was so nice.
Everything about this moment was nice. Louis' arms wrapped around me, his chin resting on my shoulder, his steady breaths in my ear reminding me he was here.
"I love you," he whispered in my ear. I could hear the smile in his voice and it made me so warm inside. He was happy and I can tell he was. Loving me made him happy. I never had someone love me this way before.
