Sunghoon

Sunghoon spent the day cleaning up his apartment, packing his belongings into suitcases. Since the place was already furnished, he didn't have to worry about taking much with him. His main focus was on his clothes, necessities, and cameras. Sunghoon wasn't much of a decorator, as his constant traveling didn't leave much time for settling in.

Once he had everything sorted, he contacted the landlord to inform them of his move-out. After that, he decided to meet up with his good friend Heeseung. They had met at the University of Chicago and had become close friends over the years.

Heeseung was on holiday and available to hang out, so they agreed to meet at their favorite bar. As Sunghoon walked in, he spotted Heeseung waving enthusiastically from a corner booth.

"Sunghoon, my man!" Heeseung greeted him with a big grin as Sunghoon approached. "I can't believe you're leaving us for good. Who's going to be my wingman now?"

Sunghoon laughed and hugged his friend. "I'm pretty sure you'll manage without me, Heeseung. But hey, maybe I can be your wingman in Korea."

Heeseung raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? You think you're going to have time for that with Nari around? From what you've told me, she keeps you pretty busy."

Sunghoon chuckled, shaking his head. "Yeah, she definitely does. But she's worth it. Speaking of which, she's already missing me like crazy. Keeps saying the house feels empty without me."

Heeseung smirked. "I bet. You two are like peas in a pod. Must be nice, though, finding someone who's that perfect for you."

"It is," Sunghoon admitted, smiling. "It really is. But enough about me, how's life treating you?"

Heeseung leaned back in his seat, sighing dramatically. "Oh, you know, same old. Work, the occasional date, and lots of Netflix. Speaking of which, have you seen that new series everyone's talking about?"

Sunghoon shook his head. "Nope, been too busy packing and getting ready to move."

"You've got to watch it," Heeseung said earnestly. "It's a thriller, and it'll keep you on the edge of your seat. Maybe you and Nari can binge-watch it once you're settled."

"Sounds like a plan," Sunghoon said, nodding. "We're always looking for something new to watch together."

Their conversation was interrupted by the waitress bringing their drinks. Heeseung raised his glass. "To new beginnings, my friend. Here's to you and Nari and a great life in Korea."

"Cheers," Sunghoon said, clinking his glass with Heeseung's. "And to many more visits from you. You better come see us."

"Count on it," Heeseung replied. "I'm already planning my first trip. You can't get rid of me that easily."

They both laughed, and the evening continued with more drinks, jokes, and stories.

"So, tell me," Heeseung said, leaning in conspiratorially. "How was the move-out process? Any funny stories?"

Sunghoon smirked. "Well, there was this one moment when I found a box of old photos. Turns out I had a whole collection of photos from our college days that I'd completely forgotten about."

Heeseung's eyes widened. "Oh man, those must be gold! Did you find the ones from that epic Halloween party?"

Sunghoon nodded, laughing. "Yep, and let's just say you've got some explaining to do for that costume choice."

Heeseung groaned. "Don't remind me. That was a dark time in my fashion history."

The night went on with more reminiscing, laughter, and the occasional sentimental moment. As they finally wrapped up and said their goodbyes, Sunghoon felt a mix of emotions. He was excited for his future with Nari but also a little sad to be leaving behind a good friend.

"Take care, Heeseung," Sunghoon said, hugging him tightly. "And seriously, come visit soon."

"You too, Sunghoon," Heeseung replied, patting his back. "And don't worry, I'll be there before you know it. Good luck with everything."

As Sunghoon headed back to his now almost-empty apartment, he couldn't help but feel grateful for the wonderful people in his life. He couldn't wait to be back with Nari and start this new chapter together.

Sunghoon had just returned to his now nearly empty apartment after a great night out with Heeseung. Feeling the need to hear Nari's voice, he decided to call her. It was 7 PM in Chicago and 9 AM in Korea, so he knew she'd be awake and likely getting ready for work.

After a few rings, Nari finally picked up the phone with a groan. Sunghoon couldn't help but smile at the sound of her voice, even if she did sound half-asleep.

"Good morning, sleepyhead," Sunghoon greeted her warmly.

"Mmm... Sunghoon?" Nari mumbled, her voice thick with sleep. "What time is it?"

"It's 9 PM here, so it's 8 AM there. Aren't you supposed to be on your way to work?" Sunghoon asked, trying to stifle a chuckle.

Nari groaned again. "Ugh, I don't want to get up. It's too early. Can't I just stay in bed?"

Sunghoon laughed softly. "As much as I'd love for you to have a lazy day, I'm pretty sure your boss wouldn't be too happy about that."

Nari sighed dramatically. "Fine, fine. You're right. But I'm going to whine about it the whole time."

"You always do," Sunghoon teased. "That's one of the things I love about you. So dramatic in the morning."

"I'm not dramatic," Nari protested, finally sounding a bit more awake. "I just value my sleep."

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I miss you like crazy," Sunghoon said softly.

Nari smiled, her voice softening. "I miss you too. It's only been a day and the house feels so empty without you."

"I know the feeling," Sunghoon replied. "But I'll be back soon. In the meantime, go kick some butt at work."

Nari groaned again as she finally started getting out of bed. "Okay, okay. I'm up. I'm moving. Ugh, where did I put my clothes?"

Sunghoon chuckled. "Check the chair. You always leave them there."

"Oh, right," Nari said, sounding a bit sheepish. "Thanks. What would I do without you?"

"You'd probably be late to work," Sunghoon teased.

Nari laughed. "True. Alright, I'm going to get ready. I'll call you on my lunch break, okay?"

"Sounds good," Sunghoon said. "Have a great day, love."

"You too. Bye, babe," Nari replied, hanging up the phone.

Sunghoon set his phone down, a smile lingering on his face. Despite the distance, their connection felt as strong as ever. He couldn't wait for the day when they wouldn't have to be apart anymore. For now, though, knowing that she was just a phone call away was enough
