Sunghoon & Nari
Sunghoon and Nari had settled into their new rhythm. The transition from Chicago to Korea had gone smoothly, thanks in no small part to their supportive network of friends and the unshakeable bond they shared. It was a Friday evening, and Sunghoon and Nari were eagerly preparing for a special dinner. They had invited Bora and Jake over for a night filled with laughter and nostalgia, and both were excited to relive the fun they'd had during their Italy trip.
Nari bustled around the kitchen, her apron tied securely as she expertly chopped vegetables. Sunghoon, on the other hand, was in charge of the music, which meant he was half-dancing and half-trying to cook a decent meal. The kitchen was alive with the sizzle of the stove and the occasional off-key singing.
"This song is a classic," Sunghoon declared, swaying to the rhythm. "You know, if I didn't have you, I'd have a career as a rock star."
Nari laughed, shaking her head. "Sure, just as long as your fans enjoy burnt chicken and songs about how you're a terrible cook."
"Hey, I'll have you know," Sunghoon said, dramatically, "I'm an artist! Art takes time, and so does cooking. It's all part of the process."
Nari raised an eyebrow, glancing at the smoke coming from the pan. "Uh-huh. Well, I hope your 'art' doesn't involve setting off the smoke alarm."
As Sunghoon was engrossed in his culinary creation, Nari's phone buzzed with a text from Bora. She read it aloud, her voice filled with amusement. "Bora's running late, but she says she's bringing dessert. Jake's going to try to stay awake this time. Apparently, he's been napping all day."
Sunghoon chuckled, stirring the pot with exaggerated concentration. "Jake and his naps. I swear, that guy could sleep through a tornado."
"Or a fire drill," Nari added, grinning. "Remember last time? We had to wake him up because he was snoring through the entire alarm."
"Classic Jake," Sunghoon said. "I'm just glad he's not napping during dinner tonight."
The doorbell rang, and Sunghoon raced to answer it, only to find Jake standing there with a sheepish grin and looking very much awake. Jake held up a large bag from a popular bakery. "I made it! Look, I'm alive and kicking."
"Wow, Jake, you're actually early," Sunghoon said, giving him a high-five. "Should I check if you're sick or something?"
Jake shrugged, smirking. "I figured I'd surprise everyone. Besides, I had to wake up from my nap eventually."
Sunghoon laughed and gestured for Jake to come in. "Well, come on in! Nari's in the kitchen, and I'm sure she's thrilled to see you. Or at least, she'll be once she sees the dessert."
Jake followed Sunghoon into the kitchen, where Nari was plating the food. She looked up and immediately grinned. "Jake! I'm so glad you're here. I was beginning to think you'd sleep through dinner."
