Sunghoon

Sunghoon was in his hotel room, the celebratory atmosphere tangible as he played loud music, excited about the news Nayoung had just given him. He opened the door, retrieved the pizza from the delivery guy, and tipped generously before returning inside.

As he bit into a slice, the noise from his laptop overpowered the music. A familiar voice cut through the upbeat melody, prompting him to frown in confusion. He set the pizza box down, turned off the music, and slowly approached his desk. The video message on his screen caught his attention.

Bora's face filled the screen. "The delivery company even returned my invitation, so that completely ruined my surprise." She paused, her frustration evident. Sunghoon sat down in front of his laptop, eyes glued to the screen, his heart pounding with anticipation.

"But don't worry, I have a plan B." Bora smiled, posing playfully. "How do I look? Long hair, French manicure, fancy jewelry." She teased, "Don't laugh, you ass, because I know you are."

She was right. Sunghoon chuckled at his friend's behavior, a warm feeling spreading through him.

Bora continued, leaning closer to the camera and sitting down. "I'm sending you this video in fancy clothes and looking my best so that your ass will miss me just a little bit and come to my wedding."

His eyes widened, shock evident on his face.

"Yeah, man, I'm getting married." Bora's face lit up with the biggest smile, practically glowing. "Me, Bora!" She laughed again, her joy infectious. "It's a grand celebration. Big wedding and reception party in Seoul in December . Can't believe it, right? Me neither." She ran a hand through her now brown hair, her expression turning more sincere.

"Look, I know you're very busy. Your life is amazing, you're extremely cool, and you don't like coming to Korea." Her face softened, and her voice turned emotional. "But, please come."

Sunghoon's eyes softened too. He hadn't spoken to his high school friends since they graduated, and he missed them dearly.

Bora's voice continued, laced with nostalgia and longing. "I'm losing my mind here. We grew up so fast." She smiled, blowing a kiss to the camera. "Bye."

The video ended, leaving Sunghoon staring at the blank screen. His heart ached with a mix of sadness and happiness. Tears welled up in his eyes as he realized how much he missed his friends, how much he missed that sense of family and belonging that had been absent for the past eight years.

He wiped his tears, a determined smile forming on his lips. He knew he had to go. He needed this. Feeling a renewed sense of purpose, he grabbed his phone and booked a flight to Korea.

It was the day of the engagement party. Bora, wearing a sparkly black dress, walked into her hotel room. She noticed someone's luggage near the door and looked ahead, spotting a person in a suit grabbing drinks from the mini-bar. She smiled widely.
