𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲-𝐬𝐢𝐱

Sunghoon & Nari

Sunghoon and Nari sat on her balcony. Nari was perched sideways on Sunghoon's lap, their arms wrapped around each other, holding close. It was five minutes until midnight.

Bora was at her gate, waiting for boarding to start. Seeing it was five minutes till midnight, she grabbed her phone to call her best friends, but seeing it was dead, she asked Haneul for his.

Jake was at his bar, trying to call Bora, but his calls kept going to voicemail. Frustrated, he gave up and made himself a new drink when his phone started ringing. A call from Sunghoon.

"Sunghoon, you ass," Jake answered, smiling. "Aren't you supposed to be on a flight? Where are you?"

"Jake, you'll never believe it," Sunghoon began, chuckling.

At the same time, Nari's phone rang. It was a call from Haneul. She picked up, hearing Bora's voice. "Hey, Nari! Where are you right now?"

Both Sunghoon and Nari were on calls, sitting together on her balcony, their friends completely oblivious to the fact that they were together and that Sunghoon was still in Korea.

"It's a long story," Sunghoon replied to Jake, his tone teasing.

On Nari's call, Bora asked, "Who are you with, Nari?"

Nari chuckled. "I'll tell you. Hold on a sec." She put her phone on speaker.

At the same time, Jake heard a girl's voice on Sunghoon's call. "Who's the chick you're with, Hoon?"

Sunghoon grinned, kissing Nari's cheek. "It's our Quark Nari," he said, using her old high school nickname, and then he put his phone on speaker too.

Bora's voice came through both phones. "Sunghoon?"

Jake, hearing Bora's voice through Sunghoon's phone, exclaimed, "Bora?"

Bora and Jake greeted each other through Nari and Sunghoon's phones. Jake said, "I've been trying to call you, Bora. Where have you been?"

"My phone died," Bora explained, still confused. "What is happening right now? Where are you?"

"I'm at the bar. I have no idea what's going on either," Jake replied, bewildered.

Nari and Sunghoon chuckled to themselves. Bora, catching on, asked, "Omg, Hoon, where are the two of you?"

Nari giggled, replying for him. "Um... at my place."

Jake was shocked. "That means you didn't leave?"

Bora gasped in realization, exclaiming loudly at the airport, "Omg, I knew it! You two were hooking up! You liars! You asses! I'm gonna kill you when I get back."

Nari and Sunghoon laughed so hard it hurt. Jake joined in, saying, "Either I'm totally wasted, or you've all lost your minds."

Sunghoon interrupted, "We'll tell you everything later. There are only five seconds left till midnight."
