Chapter 15

Days before the prelims came, I was already busy reviewing the topics that we have previously discussed. Kasama ko si Kelly ngayon sa library. Kagaya ko kasi, pursigido rin itong makakuha ng mataas na score.

“What's with you and Mia?" she asked curiously. Napatigil ako sa pagbabasa at bumaling sa kaniya.

“Nothing."

“Nakita ko kayong nagtatalo nung minsan eh, I was just curious."

I sighed and closed my notes. Kelly must be pertaining to me and Mia's rendezvous the day before yesterday.

I was on my way to the library when Mia blocked my way. I can see a certain expression on her face, determination.

“Tulungan mo akong magkabalikan kami ni Isaiah," she said. Although her voice doesn't sound rude and demanding, I couldn't agree with her easily.

I sighed as I looked at her.

“Look, Mia. As much as I want to help you, I can't."

“Why?"

“May sariling isip si Isaiah. Kapag ipagpipilitan mo, mas lalo lang siyang aayaw."

What she's asking me is quite difficult. Nabanggit ko na dati kay Isaiah ito. That he must try to be more casual and nice when talking to Mia. Pero kapag sasabihin ko iyon, naiirita siya sa akin at hindi na ako kinakausap.

What more kung paglalapitin ko pa sila ‘di ba?

“Then let me talk to him!"

I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself.

“You can talk to him whenever you want. You can contact him. Why do you have to ask me?"

“Because he blocked me! How can I contact him?!"

I was shocked with the idea that Isaiah blocked her. But I am more shocked by her angry voice. Palihim akong tumingin sa paligid, I don't want to cause a scene.

Please, Mia. Just stop.

“Then it's not my problem anymore! Busy ako sa pag-aaral at wala akong panahong makialam sa love life niyo!"

Her eyes get teary. I regretted shouting. But as soon as I saw her wiping the tears away, her eyes were suddenly filled with anger.

"Ang sabihin mo, may relasyon na kayong dalawa kaya ayaw mo kaming magkabalikan!” she shouted back.

Sa lahat ng mga taong nakilala ko, si Mia iyong pinaka-praning at tamang hinala.

I looked at her unbelievably.

“You are crazy."

I have no time to deal with her love problems. Prelims is coming and I am aiming for nice results. I want to be a laude. At hindi iyon mangyayari kung magugulo ang utak ko sa ibang mga bagay.

I stared at Kelly, she's still patiently waiting for my answer.

“Well… ex-girlfriend siya ng best friend ko. She's asking me na tulungan silang magkabalikan.”

Napahawak si Kelly sa bibig niya at hindi makapaniwalang tumingin sa akin.

"Really?! Oh my Gosh!” she exclaimed. "Pero bakit mukha siyang galit?” she added.

"Hindi ako pumayag eh, I have a lot of more important things to do than being their cupid.”

She laughed at my answer. Marami pa siyang tinanong sa akin tungkol kay Mia. I just keep on giving her short answers. I also skipped the part of Mia slapping me and accusing me of flirting with Isaiah.
